A dog adopted from FL that was euthanized for behavior issues tested positive for rabies. This is why it is important to vaccinate your pets! Rabies can take up to a year to show symptoms and persists in wildlife reservoirs like skunks, raccoons, foxes, and bats. Even living in the city- there is regular exposure to wildlife- including this bat that got into Dr. Coble’s apartment a few years ago.
