6 months! 6 months extra with Lucy. I’m not sure why or how we are so lucky to have been granted this extended time for such an incredibly poor prognosis. Hemangiosarcoma is 100% fatal with most dogs being deceased within 1-3 months of diagnosis. We were told that would be our fate with Lucy and to let her “go” on a good day. She’s only had good days for the last 6 months. She is happy, active and most importantly not suffering. Thankful every single day we continue to fight for her. For those following along and sending your thoughts and prayers for her, thank you. It’s extremely hard to even think that she is terminal and that each day definitely isn’t promised. Lucy has been such an integral part of Harbor Hounds. She has been a friend and a protector to every dog that has stepped through our doors. She’s maternal and loves hard. Her pack at HH are so important to her and I’m sure that has been a role in her journey. Here’s to the next 6 months.
