"What's the most embarrassing thing your human has done to you?"
🐱: My mom dressed me as Toothless, from How to Train Your Dragon! I assure you I am NOT toothless…it lasted 2 minutes.

"If you could have dinner with any famous pet, who would it be and why?"
🐱: I would love to have dinner with Jiji, from Kiki’s Delivery Service. He lives above a bakery and I LOVE baked goods!

"What do you want to be when you grow up?"
🐱: A cooking show host! I love watching my mom and dad cook.

"If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?"
🐱: I would love to be able to fly… to get at those pesky birds at our feeder!

"If you could be any other animal, which would you be?"
🐱: A falcon! Super fast and with wings? Sign me up - the birds wouldn’t stand a chance!

"Who is your best friend?"
🐱: My mom and dad… I’m an equal opportunity girl.

"Who is your celebrity doppelgänger?"
🐱: Catwoman, especially Julie Newman and Eartha Kitt.

"Do you have any quirks?"
🐱: Oh yes, I am OBSESSED with green vegetables. Green beans, asparagus, and broccoli are my absolute favorite treats.

"What are your special talents?"
🐱: I am an expert problem solver and can be quite the cat burglar.

"What's your favorite thing to do with your human(s)?"
🐱: Playing with wand toys is my hobby. I bring the wands to my mom when I want to play. I am a super high jumper.

"What is your biggest fear?"
🐱: Not getting my breakfast or dinner on time!!!

Meet this week's featured dog: Maxwell, an unusually reflective canine. He enjoys solitude, contemplating philosophical dilemmas, and of course, sniffing and treats:

"If you could have dinner with any famous pet, who would it be and why?"
🐶: Of course, Lump, Picasso’s famous dachshund friend. Featured in much of his art, Lump got to me the few humans I find interesting, Sartre, Camus, de Beauvoir, and Kafka.

"Who is your celebrity doppelgänger?"
🐶: Though strangers often call me “stoic”, I really see myself more like Sisyphus, chasing a tail I’ll never catch, and finding happiness in the absurdity of my efforts.

"What are your quirks?"
🐶: I am the happiest of dogs, and am clearly at my happiest without a crowd. In public, I have little interest in strangers, humans and dogs alike, but at home when the door is closed I am the sweetest and most loving of animals.

"Do you have any special talents?"
🐶: My penchant for solitude makes me a dog that all dogs want to play with and all humans want to pet.

"What do you want to be when you grow up?"
🐶: I have achieved all that I’d like to become. I spend time sitting. I walk. I sniff. And I ponder the futility of our existence while humans lay treats at my feet.

"Who is your best friend?"
🐶: My human is nudging me to say her, though my best friend is first dog to Boston’s Park 9, or the first Fish & Bone employee to ask my person, “can I give him a treat?”

"If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?"
🐶: I am a dog. I would like super scent. I would like super hearing. And I would like all geese to fear me. Though in these matters, I am already super.

"If you weren't a dog, which animal would you be?"
🐶: Having seen the Lion King, the solitude and wisdom found in certain baboon species, I find quite enticing. Far from the needy grips of humanity, spending time with nature and with quiet.

"What's your favorite thing to do with your human?"
🐶: When forced to spend time with my people, I most prefer being brought along on pet store runs or to our near-daily dog bar visits.

"What's your biggest fear?"
🐶: I fear nothing. For I trudge through this city knowing that leaning in to the absurdity of our existence is my only solace. But technically I do get fearful at the idea of finding an empty bulk bin of beef liver at Fish & Bone, for that is a void no philosophy can fill.

"What's the most embarrassing thing your human has done to you?"
🐶: I suppose creating an Instagram for me would have been the most embarrassing thing my people have done to me. But as it turned out, I quite enjoy the platform for the audience it gives me of good boys and girls across the world to express what we all are thinking.

What's your pup's play style look like?

Roughhousers: These dogs love to wrestle, chase, and jump! You may often find them flinging themselves off the back of your sofa, or getting covered in mud and slobber at the dog park with their friends.
Toy-Oriented: These dogs, as the name implies, love to play with toys! A squeaky toy is their best friend, or you can find them whiling away the time gnawing on a bone or rubber toy.
Socialites: These dogs love friends! Whether human, dog, or other, these pups can be found play-bowing at just about anybody who will play-bow back.
Independent: These dogs prefer their alone time. They may have the most fun playing scent work games around the yard, or testing their intelligence with a puzzle game.

😺I think it’s gonna be myself..There’s a waitlist for having dinner with me.

Who is your celebrity doppelgänger?
😺 Spare human or Mom says I look like Brad Pitt. I won’t contest that. So, that guy.

Do you have any pet quirks?
😺 I have 20 different meows in my repertoire for different occasions.

Do you have any special talents?
😺 I am a travel cat. I have been on road trips and am planning to travel internationally next month!

What do you want to be when you grow up?
😺 My humans say I would be a great world traveler but I think I’d be the best mukbanger.

Who is your best friend?
😺 My human! I love sleeping on him. The spare human acts like he’s her best friend too but let’s be honest, there’s no competition. I’m his bestest friend!

If you could have a superpower what would it be and why?
😺 Eat as many treats as possible and not get chonky!

If you could be any other kind of animal, what would you be?
😺 A tiger probably! I’ve got the attitude and walk, just need a bigger body now.

What is your favorite thing to do with your human?
😺 I love running around and chasing ping pong balls and shoe laces!

😺 Where do I even begin? My spare human embarrasses me all the time! She’d sing these silly songs when I demand my much deserved food. Being a king is of course not an easy job. She would also want to cuddle..can you imagine! The audacity that woman has.

😺 That my next meal would get delayed.

Paw wax or boots: what's best for your dog?

Which is better is highly subjective - it all depends on you and your dog!

Paw wax is typically easier to apply. Simply unscrew the cap and rub it into your dog's paw pads. Boots, however, are going to protect from more than just ice and road salt - they'll keep your dog's feet warm, and prevent snowballs from clumping up in their fur.

If a boot comes loose while you're out, you may lose it in the snow, but paw wax will need to be reapplied if you're out for more than a couple hours. You're also likely going to want to wipe it off when you come inside, whereas you can just pull off boots and throw them in the wash.

Dogs are more often comfortable with the application of paw wax than wearing boots, but if you're patient with your pup, they can learn to get used to wearing them. Some dogs don't like having their paws touched at all!

When fitting your dog for boots or applying paw wax, consider which you and your pet would be most comfortable with. Tell us in the comments what it is that you use for your dog!
