We want to take this time to remind you to make sure your pets are inside and warm. Cold, Ice, and Snow make the conditions dangerous for pets, especially those with shorter hair, puppies and seniors. Please don't take the chance.

We will have a team staying with our cats and dogs during the storm to make sure they are cared for!

Positive vibes and prayers it won't be as bad as the weather forecasts predicts!

Stormy, the QUEEN of Barktown, would like to announce an exciting new game coming to Barktown!

QUEEN OF HEARTS RAFFLE!

You can start purchasing tickets NOW!

FIRST DRAWING IS JANUARY 15H, 2025 AT 8 PM AND BI-WEEKLY AFTER. We will announce the dates at a later time.

The Queen of Hearts is a 50/50 raffle, with 50% of the pot going to the winner and 50% benefiting Barktown Animal Rescue, a Kentucky based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, gaming license .

The Board will consist of a full standard deck of cards plus 2 jokers. Each card will be numbered 1 – 54. Each player will choose a number at the time a ticket is purchased.

Barktown Animal Rescue has funded the initial pot with $500. The pot will remain at $500 until the first 1,000 tickets have been sold.

Once a ticket is drawn, the card on the Board that corresponds to the number selected on the ticket will be turned over. If the Queen of Hearts is turned over, the winning ticket holder will receive 50% of the pot. Other payouts include:

Any other Face card pulled will pay $25
A Joker will pay 10% of the pot A Joker will pay 10% of the pot, and the game will reset, with the remaining pot being rolled over to a new board.

If the card flipped is any card other than the Queen of Hearts or a Joker, all tickets will be cleared, the pot continues to build, and new tickets will be sold for the following weekly drawing.

Tickets are $2 each with no limit on the number of tickets that can be purchased. There is no limit on the number of tickets that can be sold.

Barktown Animal Rescue is a non-profit 501c3 – Gaming License # ORG0002841

Prizes MUST be claimed within 30 days after the day the winning ticket is pulled. Unclaimed prizes will be donated back to Barktown Animal Rescue.

Raffle drawings are held and live-streamed every 2nd and 4th Wednesday night at 8:00 pm ET at Barktown Animal Rescue. Also, feel free to watch the live drawings on our FB page.

All participants must be at least 18 years of age or older to play.

Every year the Boone family has a fundraiser for Barktown and Nelson County Humane Society. This year they raised $545 and presented some donations and gift cards for much needed items!

We received a package from Wave's Cuddly wishlist last night and we wanted to say THANK YOU to those who sent it. We are hoping the Hydro Care helps with keeping him hydrated so he doesn't need fluids.

12/20: Wave update! Wave is back with us and doing okay for now. He is still wobbly and not as perky as before, but we have increased his dosage of meds to help with the neuro symptoms. We want to thank the anonymous donor for helping toward our vet bill, but now we need help again!

The anti-viral needed to save his life is costly and we are trying to raise $1,500 (this amount is two orders of meds, plus things like his food and supportive care as needed) to cover the bulk order which will last 30 to 40 days and other supplies like food, supplements and other supportive care needs. We will likely need another bulk order to complete his treatment, so we are trying to raise enough to cover it all! We appreciate our followers and supporters so much!

It seems like so much, but Wave deserves to get better and find a forever home like the rest of siblings!

When Cameron was returned, we decided to enroll him into training. He is doing wonderful! He is cautious of men, so Alisha, his handler, has been working hard to get him more comfortable around men. We also want to thank Lpwes in Bardstown, KY for also helping with the training so Cameron can be successful and find his forever home!
