Check out our under construction development! A new, sound reducing kennel room is being installed and framing out the massive new training floor, which is separate from the grooming suite in the back. The grooming suite is currently housing the sound reducing insulation we are putting in so that our community with noise sensitivities will be more comfortable during lessons! We are trying to be accessibility minded in so many of our design elements with the new location.

We are finally moving facilities!
As our community knows, we have been struggling with the aftermath of a substantial flood caused by another tenant of our row, and the subsequent headache of losing close to 20k in training equipment, and more in lost income. We finally have our new lease secured and are in the process of renovating the new space to be even better than pre-sewage RT.
Where are we going? Just up the street to 211 Belgrade Ave!
It is a stand-alone building, with parking, outdoor play space and room for so many more classes!! We intend to be *paws crossed* in the new space by October 1st- sooner if we can make it happen with all of the moving parts.
But we really need our community's help at this point.
We have a few ways that you can support the little service dog/neighborhood dog training company that could... and we hope you will consider participating in some mutual aid to keep us going.
First up, we have a very straightforward fundraiser. We are still locked up in a seemingly unending, now 5 months of embattled negotiations involving insurance, property management and lawyers to get our recovery from the flood, because... well Boston landlords are not known for their ethical consideration of small business. We'll leave it at that. We have tapped all of our personal resources, and frankly, need a little help from our friends to get by after putting down the lease expenses and fronting the costs for the build out of the new space.

Itās Augieās first day of Muttessori Academy! This little dude was selected by RT to be a future service dog and did wonderfully in our initial puppy raising program, now he is home with his handler and has begun big boy school!
Did you know?
Our service dogs have traveled Across the world! where? An incomplete, off the top of the head list includes: Germany, Berlin, Scotland, Denmark, Guatemala, India, Canada, Mexico, across the countryā¦. but that takes A LOT of practice and preparation! Public access practice takes place all over- our pups learn to work in every environment and scenario. During this week we went to coffee shops, grocery stores, the Franklin Park Zoo and an outdoor pool just to name a few examples!
Power is on and we are ready to go!
Good morning! Well, not so good- the entire block is out of power since last evening (even after receiving a restoration notice at 8:30 last night) so we have had to cancel Muttessori for the day!!! š¤¬ššµāš« we are hoping to still be able to host private lessons but will be reaching out to those clients directly.

Our friends Paulie and Charlie have aced their obedience assessment, which is one half of the graduation requirements for the service dog program! Paulie has worked incredibly hard to learn the ropes of dog training and service dog handling and her success is evident with her best buddy!
This insanely fashionable gentleman celebrated his birthday by crushing his servic dog public access trip and correctly marking all but one of the products he is trained on allergy detection for! (pre photo shoot). Happy Birthday Atreyu, we are so proud of how much you have grown!
We took our show on the road today and got in some public access practice with the more advanced service dogs. Being a service dog in a PET SUPPLIES STORE is definitely one of the harder practices! There are SO many distractions! Io, Oscar and Mae did well today working on being their best selves in this type of environment! Ioās handler Ciara is participating in our new program Immersive Training: this program combines Muttessori and a private lesson, and is really effective for service dog teams who are tackling a big challenge or working on finishing the program. At least one day a week, the handler comes in and works with us during Muttessoriās group afternoon activities from 1-3 to advance their dog skills and practice as a team with us coaching. We have been Beta-testing this program for about a year, and are thrilled with the results so offering it now officially!
Please give Stacey and Summer a big round of applause for passing their public access assessment tonight! They are officially halfway to graduation and all of RT couldnāt be more proud of them! This team has worked so hard and they are truly blossoming together.
Surprise! Though we spoke to the crew yesterday and were assured this wouldnāt be the case our front doorsāare a bit of a city drain crew obstacle course- so please be mindful of both your parking needs and general mayhem when you drop your pup off today. Please welcome Fenrir and baby Penny to our program! Fenrir is a handsome black lab, who is joining us after foundational training and here to learn our advanced impulse control, task training and public access work. Penny is only 3 months old, a Shetland sheep dog, and just starting her puppy journey. These two prospects have big goals on the horizon and we are delighted to have them join RT!
Yesterday was this little Muppetās first day of training!!! Abbie is the sister to the illustrious Julie the service dog in training, a recently adopted rescue whom we are doing some foundation training for. We know she is going to be a fun pet and a great cousin dog to little Fifi too! We love training multidog households and when families use us for their pack dynamic! ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø

Please Welcome the Adorable Dani to school! Yesterday was technically her second day, but we are working on our big feelings and confidence, so we have been taking it slow with scary objects like a chalkboard apple. But she is already opening up to the team and we canāt wait to help her be the BEST big sister!

Welcome little Zara to our service dog fold! This little munchkin has big paws to fill following behind our other border collie friends and has already taken off running (naturally)! We know she and her handler have a bright future!
We have some wonderful news to share! The wonderful team of Kathleen and Gawain have passed the first of of their Service Dog Program graduation! Often considered by the handlers to be the āhard partā Kathleen and Gawain completed their obedience assessment today! We adore this team who has driven hours to us weekly for 2 years now, and shown real dedication to success. We know public access assessment success isnāt far behind for these gems!
Our apologies for a delayed posting, Ejay was under the weather last evening! Donāt let that ruin your adoration of our new student, Bebe- who is just as sassy as she is cute! We welcomed her to her very first day yesterday!

As a note, Ejay will be on medical leave starting Friday and returning April 29th. You should have already received a scheduling email if you were booked with him. Michelle and the fabulous apprentices (Kat and Mack) will be holding down the training for a few weeks and Kim is always happy to help with admin questions.

RT has been keeping an open secret!!! As many of you know, we adopted 2 New Guinea pigs, the girls Kelly and Stanley- when our beloved Angela passed away leaving Phylis solo. We adopted from the animal rescue league, and though the girls were only 6 weeks old- they had been rescued after male exposureā¦ and piggies can get pregnant just after 3 weeks!!!! Low and behold, our farmer senses started tingling and Kelly looked like mama duties were comingā¦ so we decided to keep her on-site for the birth, as people with (A LOT) of baby animal experience. Kelly brought two new little snuggle bugs into the shop and world 3 weeks ago today, and we have been delightedly watching them grow and seeing how things develop. The pig herd has BLOSSOMED into this adorable, vibrant, happy little herd family- and we canāt bare to separate them. We do have one gentleman baby, who just entered his own private suite we are calling the Annex until he is large enough to neuter and return, but he can see and engage with his fam in the meantime now that he is weaned from mama Kel. It has been a delight, and we will be running a contest to name the new 2 loves after Office characters to keep with the theme. The whole herd is doing GREAT and has started their dog and human conditioning with lots of snacks.

Sound the Celebration trumpets! We have another service dog team who has made it half way to program graduation! Geoff and his bullmastiff Phoebe passed their public access assessment today and now can focus on their obedience assessment for full program graduation! GO TEAM! Geoff has been one of our most self-driven handlers and has done an incredible job throughout training. He is a pleasure to work with and so is Phoebe!

RTās urban modified Treibball season has begun!! Treibball is a ball-pushing game that we teach a version of in winter when itās hard to get all of our dog sports in! This year we will be teaching March Wagness (our annual competition) as a group class! Check out Nola during our first practice of the season!

Running into Friday like this herd of puppies.
Check out some of our service dogs in training working on their impulse control and duration practice on Belgrade yesterday. We used some box feeding to help them feel more confident and content in a challenging environment. (Two trainers were present and all dogs are tethered to the place cots as an extra safety measure. Also, all of these dogs are in the later stages of training and have a lot of prep before anything like this).
