New year, new puppy! (And new absolutely ADORABLE photos 🥺🥺… Like I can’t even!!). Meet Max, a mild mannered Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who will be turning 6 months old at the end of January. Max recently had his first pack walk with the CEO .for.coney and the two of them couldn’t have been any cuter together. Max joined our growing pack and we are so thrilled to have him in the family!! Many more pics of this little cutie to come in 2024!!!

Happy Saturday, everyone! Please allow me to temporarily interrupt your weekend festivities to introduce you to our amazing part-time employee, Molly Becker! ( ). Molly has been working for us since this past summer and we could not be more thrilled to have her in the Hounds in the Hub fam. Molly is originally from New Jersey and graduated from Syracuse University in 2022 with a degree in Advertising. After college, Molly worked in healthcare advertising at Hill Holliday Heath for a year before she moved to Boston to begin grad school (she is currently pursuing a graduate degree in social work). Growing up, Molly’s family always owned dogs and she currently has a beloved Whoodle named Jojo back home in New Jersey. When Molly isn’t busy with grad school or walking pups for Hounds in the Hub, you can find her serving up delicious coffee and sandwiches at Southie’s . Be sure to say hello to her the next time you swing by Deja Brew or if you see her out and about walking pups!! 🐾❤️🐾

Happy (full circle!!) Tongue Out Tuesday from this adorable guy right here — SKEETER!!! I say full circle because Skeeter’s Mom bought a condo from one of my beloved original Hounds in the Hub clients who sadly moved to the burbs! I didn’t even realize that this was the same condo until I showed up to walk Skeeter for the first time and I put two and two together. One of the hardest parts of our job is having to say goodbye to the pups we grow to love so much/ become so attached to when they move away, so it was really cool to have a new pup in the same condo I used to do so many pick ups at. (Cue nostalgia!) And even though Skeeter had big paws to fill, I have grown to love him just as much!!! He is an adorable 3 year old Morkie who keeps up with all of the big pups in our pack despite his tiny size. He loves chewing on sticks, meeting new friends, hanging at Thomas Park, and posing with his big goofy smile for treats. And perhaps the funniest thing about Skeeter? Skeeter LOVES to chase scooters — I always get a chuckle when one goes and I think “there goes Skeeter chasing scooters again.” Many more pics of this cutie to come and I am so blessed to have this “full circle” moment with a brand new client (and I was so touch by what my old client texted me 🥰🥰).

🎶 I can smell clearly now the rain is gone 🎶 - Roma on her afternoon walk today after the monsoon (swipe to see poor Roma’s face on her morning walk when it was down-pouring though ….She was NOT a happy camper!! 🥹😂 ). Roma is an adorable 2 month old Labrador Retriever puppy who just joined our pack recently. Many more pics of this cutie to come I am sure and hopefully with more sunny days than rainy days ahead!!

If there was a Hounds in the Hub award for the best “instagram versus reality” picture series, our new pack member Nelly would win no doubt (swipe to see the most hilarious and terrifying picture ever 🤣). This picture is so terrifying that I had to add a bunch of other pictures to show just how cute Nelly normally is 🤣. Nelly is a 1.5 old poodle, lab and, to quote his owner, “hyena” mix (🤣🤣🤣). He is super friendly with other pups and the life of the party on all of his outings! He has been such a great addition to our little family and there will be many more (adorable and non hyena looking) pictures to come, I am sure! ❤️ 🐾 ❤️

I didn’t know when I took this picture that it would be the last picture I ever took of this sweet girl and when I got the news (even though I knew she had been sick), I couldn’t help but burst into tears. One of the hardest parts of this job is losing the pups that I grow to love so much. Sweet Jada - I only knew you for 6 months but you burned a hole in my heart with your gentle and kind demeanor and how much you loved your walks, even when you were sick (it almost didn’t seem real when I was told that you had terminal cancer because your were still so happy to go out for our walks each and every time I picked you up). You never lost the twinkle in your eyes and your smile was literally contagious, up until the very end. I’m happy that you died comfortably in your mama’s arms and in your favorite bed and I hope you and Harley are now playing together on the other side of the rainbow bridge, chasing bunnies forever. Rest easy. 💔 🌈

And it wouldn’t be a good Tuesday without some good ol fashioned pics and this TOT is brought to you by the one and only HANK! Hank is a two year old Bernedoodle who has been part of our pack since last October. He is the sweetest big fluff ball! He is super well behaved, walks very well on the leash, and has the best time when he’s running around at the dog park with his friends in the pack. We can’t say enough great things about Hank…he has always been super friendly to all his walkers, pack members, and literally everyone he passes by. If you see Hank out and about, make sure you stop and say hello! 👅 🤙👅

Happy Tuesday, everyone! Today we are thrilled to introduce you to perhaps our most artistically inclined part-time staff member, Emily Seifert (.seifert ). As a lot of our clients already know, Emily takes some seriously awesome photos of our pups — her shots are always so creative and cool! Emily is originally from Middleboro, MA, and she went to Eastern Nazarene College where she graduated in 2021 with degrees in Social Work and Psychology. Emily will be starting her Masters of Social Work specializing in Policy & Advocacy soon. When she isn’t working or studying, you can find Emily thrift store shopping, going to the gym, or sipping coffee (she has worked at five different coffee shops and is definitely a coffee connoisseur!). Back home Emily has two pups whom she adores: a Dachshund and a rescue Fox Hound/Terrier mix. If you see Emily out and about walking pups, please be sure to say hello! (We are slowly but surely going to convince her to move from Quincy to Southie!!). 🐾❤️🐾❤️

Happy Saturday everyone!! Super excited to introduce one of the newest additions to our pack, Millie! Millie is a 7 month old Poodle and she just joined our pack back in April! We cannot say enough great things about her. Although she is just a young pup, she walks great on leash and socializes well with the other dogs in our pack. She absolutely loves playing with other pups and playing fetch at the park…she is one fast girl! Millie definitely still has her puppy energy, but she also enjoys a good snuggle session during her dog sitting days too. We can’t wait to watch her grow and make more friends in the pack. Post Marathon Monday yawns brought to you by the one and only Duke!! (I think all of Boston is exhausted after this weekend 🤣). Duke has been in our pack since January and he was referred to us by ‘s awesome mom . Duke is a three and a half year old Mastiff/Pitbull mix who was rescued by his awesome Mom . Although Duke might look intimidating, he is actually just a big lovable gentle giant and we have absolutely loved all of our walks and dogsitting requests with him. He has been so sweet and great with the new CEO Coney (even when she was just a little tiny puppy) and all of the other pups in our pack (the kisses he gives to our pack members are too stinkin cute 🥹🥹). Who’s excited for Marathon Monday in Boston?! We sure are here at Hounds in the Hub, especially because one of our favorite part-time staff members — Liz Foley — is running in the marathon!!! Liz grew up in Mattapoisett, MA, and has been living in Dorchester (Savin Hill area) for the past two years but will soon be moving to Southie in September. Growing up, Liz always had a lot of family dogs and she misses her Labrador Retriever back home so between trying to get fit super for her marathon training 💪🏻 and missing her pup, this has been the perfect side hustle for her! Liz went to Providence College where she majored in biology and she currently works in the medical device sales sector for Stryker. Make sure to cheer her on come Monday as she crosses the finish line and be sure to say hello to Liz if you see her out and about!! Betty Boop makes the most adorable model, don’t you think?!l Probably why our employees love taking selfies with her so much, too!! Betty is a 3 month old Bernese Mountain Dog puppy who is brand new to our pack and we couldn’t be any happier to have her in our squad! She is goofy, happy-go-lucky, super friendly (she wants to say hi to literally everyone and she follows every dog she sees on the street 🤣 ) and a total love bug (she always what’s to cuddle up to every human!!). Cheers to the start of what no doubt will be a very promising puppy modeling career and make sure to stop into at 703 East Broadway in Southie this weekend for some shopping — they have the cutest outfits and accessories!! ✨🐾✨

Happy Friday, everyone! Today we are delighted to highlight yet another amazing staff member, Alorra Kingston! ( ). Alorra has been working for us part time for over a year now and all of my clients adore her. She is originally from Chelmsford, MA, but she has called Southie her home for the past four years (and she just bought a condo in Southie back in 2020!). She works at Boston Consulting Group and is currently completing her MBA at Bentley University in Waltham. Alorra grew up with dogs and she has three pups back at home — an Australian Shepard named Sorell, a Hound/Lab mix named Bristol and a Boxer mix named Archie. Her happy place is at the lake with her family dogs or hiking with furry companions. Her favorite days working for Hounds in the Hub are the cold winter days where most people avoid going out; surprisingly (and lucky for us!) Alorra LOVES going out with the pups on snowy days for winter wonderland adventures! Alorra loves dogs so much that she dreams of some day training guide dogs and she ends every Hounds in the Hub walk “not only happy to have helped the pup/ client, but also wicked grateful that I got to ‘borrow’ them for some fun for me too!” If you see Alorra around make sure to say hello and give her a huge congrats — she is engaged and getting married in October and headed on a Safari for her honeymoon!!! Who’s ready for a Fenway Frank this summer?! 🌭 This sweet boy sure is! Allow me to introduce you to Yukon, aka Youk, the most mellow and loving golden boy you will ever meet! He checks every box for being a certified good boy! ✅🐶 Youk is new to our pack but he has already become a staff favorite. I mean how could you not fall in love with that smile?! Youk was rescued by his awesome owner after spending most of his life as a breeding dog. He will be turning 8 in September. Now this sweet boy is enjoying the retired life and soaking up all the belly rubs, sun rays and beach days that he can! ☀️🏖️ Welcome to the pack, Youk! #02127

When I joke around with my clients that I may have the most “overqualified” dog walkers in all of Boston, it’s actually not really a joke at all — and this employee right here is the perfect example! Meet Kate Brown, one of our part-time staff members who all my clients are ranting and raving about. Kate is originally from the small town of Bristol, Vermont, and she graduated from St. Lawrence University in 2015 with a Political Science degree and then went on to get her Master’s degree in Education from Harvard, specializing in Higher Education, in 2018. Kate worked for many years in undergraduate admissions sector and now works as a college counselor to help high students through the process of applying to college. Kate’s mother is a recently retired small-animal veterinarian who owned two animal hospitals, so needless to say, Kate grew up surrounded with a family love for animals and that love shines through each and every day here at Hounds in the Hub (all my clients ADORE Kate!). Kate has been living in Boston since 2017 and she has been dog walking and dog sitting ever since she moved here. The dog pictured here is Nell, her family’s dog from back home. Nell is a 9-year-old black lab who is whole-heartedly obsessed with belly-rubs. When Kate isn’t busy working or hanging out with dogs, she likes to hike and spend time reading. Her goal this year is to read 40 different books so if you have any good book recommendations, please send them Kate’s way! ✨👏✨

Tell me you’re walking a Bernedoodle without actually telling me you’re walking a Bernedoodle! 🤣 Meet Maisy, the adorable Bernedoodle to the left of long time Bernedoodle pack member, Oliver. Maisy has been in our pack since February and was referred to us by Frankie’s awesome Mom, !! Maisy is a one year old free-spirited, fun-loving and happy-go-lucky doodle who is SUPER smart and SUPER food motivated. Her favorite past-times include playing tug-o-war with sticks (when given a little break time from structured walk time, of course- gotta keep these doodles in line! 🤣), giving exuberant high fives and solving complex puzzles to get treats (check out how smart she is!!), giving employees kisses (check her out giving kisses to Valeria 😍), and playing with friends at the beach or the dog park! She is great with recall given how food-motivated she is and she has been a pure joy to have in our pack. Many more pics of this cutie to come !!!

Neighborhood beach watch brought to you by Teddy! Teddy is an easy going mixed-breed pup who has been part of our pack since April of last year! He was referred to us by (we LOVE our client referrals here at Hounds in the Hub!). Teddy is A a very easy going and “chill” pup who gets along with everyone. He absolutely loves playing at the dog park, long walks on the beach, getting lots of pets from our employees, and stopping to sniff just about everything he can. He would make the perfect puppy politician given how easily he makes friends! (He gets along even with the dogs who normally aren’t quick to make friends!). How do you know you own a dog walking business in the most Irish neighborhood of Boston? When you have a client named Potato, of course! ☘️ 🇮🇪 🤣 Potato has been in our pack for about a year now (she will be celebrating her one year anniversary of Hounds in the Hub in May!) and we have loved every second of our weekly walks and all of the dogsitting requests with her!! She has especially loved staying with her go-to dogsitter ! Potato is a Bichon Frise/Shih Tzu mix who will be turning three on April 25th and she is just about as an easy going as they get when it comes to her personality. That said, and while she is almost as small as a potato, she definitely holds her own when it comes to playing and walking with the bigger pups! And she is VERY opinionated when it comes to the weather… She’ll walk for miles strutting about like a hot potato when it’s warm and sunny out but if it’s raining out she looks at you like “umm where is my Uber?!” (Swipe to see what she looks like in the rain 🤣🤣😭). She is the perfect mix of sassy and sweet and all of my employees just adore her. Many more pics of her to come!!

Friday feels brought to you by GUS!!! Gus is a happy-go-lucky Bernedoodle who will be turning one year old in February. It has been so much fun watching him grow from the itty bitty bundle of floof he was last summer to the independent “big boy” he is these days doing off leash hikes in the snow and practicing his recall at Blue Hills with his friends! He started out last summer hanging with my amazing part time staff member team for our 6 hour daytime dogsitting program where he became VERY well socialized with all sorts of people (the number of selfies he got to take with my staff members and their friends is simply amazing 🤣) to slowly being socialized with other pups as he built his confidence to being a fully integrated pack member these days. We have seen him grow through so many seasons, stages of his life, and yes, haircuts 🤣🤣. Watching a dog grow up and being able to serve as such an integral part of their “puppyhood” is one of the things I love the most about this job. He may or may not have gone 💩 in my car the first time I ever took him for a car ride and he might win the award for most difficult dog in the pack to get leashed up for walks given his sheer excitement level at pick up (picture the Bernedoodle version of the Tasmanian Devil 🤣🤣), but I wouldn’t trade his hyper, crazy, goofy personality for anything. Happy birthday to this sweet Golden named Winnie who just turned 5 yesterday and who got to celebrate with one of our favorite staff members, @eileenpastyrnak !!! Eileen is dogsitting Winnie this weekend along with her pup Alfie (@bigcitytinyalfie ) and the celebration couldn’t have been more fun — They went on lots of long walks, went to the park where Winnie acted like a puppy running around with Alfie, made homemade pup cups which she and Alfie devoured immediately, played with a birthday balloon and ended their day with a nice sunset walk! Happy Tongue Out Tuesday from one of our all-time favorite pack members, Winnie !! Winnie is a 3 year old Border Collie/Aussie mix who has been in our pack since November of 2022. Like pretty much all of our clients, she came to us through a referral (thank you @melheals !!). Winnie is SUCH a sweetheart with all of the other pups in our pack and we look forward to seeing her happy smile with her bubble-gum tongue hanging out each and every time we pick her up for her walks, play sessions and overnight stays. She was one of the first dogs I socialized the CEO Coney (@clap.for.coney ) with and I couldn’t have asked for a better pup to become one of Coney’s first friends (the videos of her helping me with recall training are too stinking cute). Whether she is jumping in my bath tub to hang out while I’m doing my make up, looking up at me with her happy-go-lucky face waiting for me to throw the ball at the park or jumping enthusiastically in the waves at the beach with her friends, Winnie never ceases to put a smile on my face. When you have the perfect cover photo for an Instagram reel to introduce both a new pup AND one of your most amazing part-time staff members, you gotta post it right away! Meet Emma Brodigan (@ebrodigan ) one of our fan-favorite part time employees pictured in the first two photos of this reel (there are also a few other employees and new human friends featured, too!). Emma has been working with us since April and she is originally from Belmont, MA. She graduated in 2022 from Fairfield University with a degree in nursing. She moved to Southie to begin her career as a registered nurse back in September at Brigham and Women’s Hospital on an Intermediate Medicine Unit and she absolutely loves being a nurse. Emma has had dogs her whole life (she even basically had a dog in college too because her roommate got a dog her sophomore year!) and back home her family’s Cavapoo who is *sixteen* years old still greets her like she is a puppy! Now to introduce the REAL star of this reel — RINGO!! Ringo (@ringothegoldpup ) is a happy-go-lucky Goldiva Golden Retriever (@goldiva_goldens )with the best personality you could ask for in a Golden. He is the perfect mix of easy going and playful. He should be a politician the way he pleasantly and politely greets literally anyone and everyone… person or pup! Ringo has MANY past times including (but not limited to!) digging in the sand at the beach, munching on sticks, convincing our staff members to go to Starbucks to spoil him with a pup cup (he is very persuasive 🤣🤣), hunting squirrels, going for car rides to the park, rolling in the grass, taking long afternoon naps, and having at least 2-3 play dates a day with friends (he is one PUPular Golden Retriever!!). Beau is a 6 month old Golden Retriever puppy from Savin Hill who joined our pack back in February! It’s been nothing but fun times ever since. All of our walkers absolutely adore him and it’s easy to see why — he is clearly ADORABLE 😍 He gets along great with all the other dogs in our pack and he is super friendly to everyone he passes by on his walks. He is definitely a retriever and loves to carry a stick or a toy around with him proudly wherever he goes which always cracks us up. He also really enjoys off leash time and running around with other pups big or small, taking long naps with his dogsitters in between walks, going to the beach, looking out the window on neighborhood watch, grocery shopping, and car rides! We first met Cheerio while we were out and about on a play session but quickly learned that he already knew one of our favorite clients, @rideordigan ! Cheerio is a 1.5 year old English Cream Golden Retriever who is SUCH a sweetheart and a total goofball. He loves playing with his friends at the dog park, digging holes in the sand at the beach, one wheeling with Chip, giving his friends puppy kisses, taking long walks at sunset, getting as dirty as fricken possible (the video clip of him sleeping in a pile of dirt from a fallen flower pot is priceless 🤣), playing tug-o-war, distracting his pawrents when they’re trying to work from home, stealing the dish towels from the kitchen to try and get attention, taking long naps on his roof deck after a long day, and getting aaaaalll the belly rubs he possibly can!! #tbt to last summer when Hounds in the Hub took our dogsitting requests to brand new heights when we brought Finley (@finniethedoodle ) to hike Red Hill in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire where Mary grew up! Finley had an absolute blast that weekend hiking, swimming in Lake Winni, and checking out waterfalls with Harley and another doodle and it’s been nothing but fun times ever since. Finley is a Mini Goldendoodle who will be turning 8 in May and who was referred to us by Indy’s awesome Mom, @kaity.farrell ! (Indy is actually his younger sibling from the same breeder). Finley is a very sweet boy who got along so well with Harley and now has the patience of a saint when it comes to dealing with the new CEO Coney’s puppy energy! He loves his outdoor adventures with the pack and is so great with recall. He is such a cuddle bug and the way he sleeps in bed with his head on the pillow like a human is the cutest thing in the whole wide world. Our History

In 2017, Hounds in the Hub was started by Mary Johnson, who quit her job as a paralegal/office manager and decided against going to law school in order to become a paw-fessional and finally put her lifelong love for all things canine to use. Hounds in the Hub quickly grew simply by word of mouth as a result of Mary's steadfast dedication to her clients and their pups and her strong desire to provide the best -- and most personalized -- dog walking services in South Boston. While Mary is no longer a solo dog walker and now has a larger team of dedicated walkers working under her, throughout the business' growth, she has been extremely careful to keep the company's individualized customer service as the hallmark of Hounds in the Hub.
