Boston based team of certified dog trainers and behavior consultants offer real world dog training. Does your dog lunge or pull at other dogs on walks?

Sit Pretty Dog Training is here to help you. We’ll teach your dog how to communicate with y

ou in an appropriate way, while keeping your relationship with your dog positive and fun. We can help with:

- Basic obedience for any stage of life;
- Acclimation work with newly rescued dogs;
- Going back to the basics with dogs that may not have the right answer out in the real world. We will come to you and work in the comfort of your home to make sure your dog has the right foundations to take into more distracting and stimulating environments. Then we can move those foundations and behaviors out into the real world where you need them most. Now scheduling private lessons by appointment. Please inquire about scheduling group classes for basic obedience, reactive dogs, and desensitization to veterinary clinics and procedures.

🐶 5 Minutes (or less) with Gideon: Platform Fun! 🐾

🎥As you watch Aubrey and Gideon have some platform fun, ask yourself:

✅ What signal or word is she using to cue or ask her dog to go to the platform?
✅ What does it seem like she is rewarding?

💡 Pro Tip: The timing of your reward is key to teaching your dog what you like about their behavior. Rewarding your pup too early or too late might reinforce behaviors you didn’t intend—like walking away instead of holding still. Use treats, praise, or a toy to reinforce exactly what you want, like sitting calmly or looking at the camera.

👉Puppy Socialization begins Jan 25th and runs for four weeks on Saturdays at 8:30am.

👉Intermediate Obedience begins Jan 28th and runs for seven weeks on Tuesdays at 6pm.

This photo of Hudson not only reflects his tolerance of my shenanigans, but also his training in paw targets, chin rest for teeth and ear checks, stay in the down position, and eye contact.
