Remembrance Day was first celebrated on August 28, 2013. This video is a video of two wonderful pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. This video of Baxter and Lorenzo was taken on May 29, 2020. Lorenzo the cat crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on August 6, 2020. He was a sweet cat and a good friend of Baxter. Baxter crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on January 20, 2021.I'm sure Lorenzo and Baxter are playing again in Heaven!

I saw somewhere else online that it is celebrated on April 3. I am remembering Baxter and his friend Lorenzo this day, August 28. These cute little boys are greatly missed! I'm sure they are playing together across the Rainbow Bridge now. We love you and will see you again one fine day!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnXODsx8fq0 BAXTER THE BEAGLE MEMORY OF DOG ATTACK- (RIP BAXTER JAN. 13, 2005- JAN. 20, 2021). In this video, Baxter is back home on March 2, 2019. On February 24, 2019, he was attacked by another dog. Luckily the dog bite did not damage any of his internal organs. He will have surgery in a few days to treat the area on his side where the attack took place. Little Baxter passed on to the Rainbow Bridge on January 20, 2021, he had turned 16 on January 13, 2021. He has been my friend for over 16 years. I really miss my loving friend Baxter who went through so many hardships in his last 2 years of life. In those 2 years, Baxter got attacked by a dog, was diagnosed with cancer, had two vestibular episodes, and endured many Vet visits and treatments. But through it all, Bax carried on and loved his life! But he couldn't beat cancer. On December 2, 2020, he lost his second eye because melanoma was invading his eye socket. On December 31, 2020, Baxter was scheduled for euthanasia because of aggressive cancer. I decided to put off euthanasia because his cancer Vet thought the cancer was not spreading that fast. It seemed like he knew he was given more life by how many times he did his happy "Baxter Beagle Wiggle" after euthanasia had been canceled! In the end, Bax was fighting cancer, he now was blind, and he just experienced a seizure. I didn't want my friend to suffer anymore.

Today, August 26, 2025, is National Dog Day, held every year on August 26. It celebrates the bond between humans and their dogs and encourages dog ownership of all breeds. I am honoring Baxter today with pictures of him as a puppy, at age 10, and a picture of him with his wings. Baxter crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on January 20, 2021. Bax I will see you again one fine day in Heaven.....

(I originally posted this picture and description on August 23, 2018; at that time Bax was 13 years old). Yesterday Baxter and I went to the Pet Pros store in Mill Creek. They were having a special day for dogs. Since Baxter is 13, they calculated that Baxter is 74 in dog years. They had 3 or 4 categories depending on the size of the dog to do the calculation. I think this is a new way because I always heard that a dog's life is compared to a human's age times 7. Here is a picture of Baxter and me! According to most canine experts, the first two years of a dog’s life are roughly equivalent to 10 ½ human years. Each additional year of life beyond the first two years can be calculated at 4 human years. For example, let’s say you are calculating the age of your dog that is five years old. This dog would be the equivalent of 33 human years old (10 ½ years + 10 ½ years + 4 years + 4 years + 4 years). This is the formula that they use in their dog age calculator and it’s the formula that they believe is the most accurate for this calculation.

BAXTER THE BEAGLE SEE A HUGE CHICKEN! RIP BAXTER (JAN.13, 2005- JAN. 20, 2021) This Baxter Video Memory is from August 18, 2017. At that time Bax was 12 years old. On our walk through Country Village, we spotted an enormous chicken. It was one of the many scenic sights that was in the Country Village location. At that time, Country Village also had many shops with interesting merchandise on sale. It was a popular local fun destination for neighboring families. At that area, chickens, geese, and ducks roamed freely there. Many memories were made there until the complex was sold and torn down. It was a sad time in our area as the land was sold to contractors who replaced Country Village with many condos. Baxter and I walked through Country Village for years and took videos and enjoyed the sights. It was a sad time in 2019 when that happened. Luckily, I have pictures and videos as memories of our walks there. Baxter had his left eye removed in 2013 due to glaucoma complications. On November 13, 2020, Baxter's right eye was getting attacked by melanoma coming through his eye socket. In the first week of December, the poor little guy had his right eye removed too. He was a happy boy who had been through so much, but his will to live and love of life kept him going! At the end, Bax had been attacked by another dog in Feb 2019, was fighting cancer, he now was blind, and he just experienced a seizure. I didn't want my friend to suffer anymore. The sweet boy crossed the Rainbow Bridge on January 20, 2021, at age 16! I love you Baxter and I will see you again one fine day in Heaven!!!

This is a nice picture of me holding Baxter on June 26, 2014. When I posted it then, Dennis Provisor, who was a member of The Grass Roots wrote: "Baxter says, "If you play any more of those Grass Root songs, I'm gonna eat the couch." At this time Bax was 9 years old.
