Fall hustle! The dahlias are dug, divided and tucked away for the winter. 💪🏼 The new beds yielded lower tuber counts than I hoped for and a good chunk (20%) of the plants never bloomed. We’re strategizing for next year so there isn’t a repeat! 🤔 Earlier this week the anemones & ranunculus went in the ground. Today Mom & I planted 650 tulips and 85 daffodils at her property and I planted another 400 tulips & around 600 other bulbs at my house. I still have around 300 more tulips and 300 daffodils to plant (hopefully) tomorrow. Spring is going to be BEAUTIFUL! And so will our spring CSA bouquets 😍💐😉

The dahlia work’s on pause for a few weeks while the ranunculus, anemones, tulips & daffodils get planted (and while my daughter and I go to KY for ARBA 🐰 National Convention). Half of our bulk tulip order from arrived today with more coming tomorrow 🥰 Spring is looking beautiful already!

Fall is bulb planting season! 🌷💐 I ordered extra tulips & ranunculus this last spring so you could have access to the varieties that we farmer florists love to grow—the double peony, fancy fringed and parrot tulips. Ranunculus will be shipping out next week and tulips a couple of weeks after. I’ll also be having an in person bulb sale in mid-November. Varieties are listed on my Square Site 😊

Last Farmstand Friday of the season!

Thank you all for such a wonderful year! We’ve enjoyed seeing you all, the treats you’ve left and donations have helped cover the cost of raising flowers (and buying the containers for cherry tomatoes 😉). We hope we’ve brightened your Fridays!

It Free Farmstand Friday with a twist!

This week it’s a DIY bouquet and bring your own rubber bands (sorry, forgot to set out the rubber bands). There are bags in the green tray and SO many Shiro plums too. Let them sit on your counter if they’re still hard & green.

More first blooms! I love how wonky some of them are (while hoping they work out the kinks on the next blooms!). For anyone feeling like they’re way behind because their dahlias aren’t blooming yet, I still have plenty that are only 6-12” tall. These were all pre-sprouted back in February and transplanted as plants.

Dahlias! I did pinch a few and the slugs sure helped pinch more than their share (🤬). The first blooms of the year can be a little wonky, a little bit “tasted” & beat up. But they bring joy! AC Twisp, KA’s Mocha Katie, Ruthie G & Linda’s Baby.
