We’ve been busy! 50+ horses with us this winter, we are so thankful for the owners who trust us to care for their horses.

The barn has also never been busier! Tons of appointments, (acuscope/myopulse and osteopath visits now!) tons of riding and tons of horse lovin!

I am a regular drop point for Cube It Hay Co, our next truck will be in March! I also have some Equitiva pellets on hand to sell as well 🙂

For ‘24 we had 24 horses from our barn! Our stall theme was “Under The Sea” winning us first place in 3+ stall decorating AND most creative! 🌊🤩

“Make friends who force you to level up”

Today we teamed up with Amber Crandall of MT Pocket Ranch and we put on a clinic together!

The morning started with horsemanship, then onto drills and pattern work in the afternoon - we helped each horse and rider team as much as we could! We had a great group, and we look forward to doing another one 🥰 thanks to everyone who came!

It’s been a while since we had a barn party! We had a lot of fun with some competitive trail patterns, barrel racing, and of course egg & spoon! Finished the night off with a yummy potluck. Thankful for a fun crew everyday!

This was a going away party for Kaydee and her gelding Squeaks, she’s headed to Baudette for the summer and then off to SD. We wish her nothing but the best - she will be missed by everyone! 🥰

Here’s to the owners who are outside every couple of hours to monitor their horses’ health in these frigid temps.

Here’s to the owners who are checking waterers for ice. Here’s to the owners who are freezing their fingers to hang up their hose, or bringing hoses inside their house to keep from freezing.

Here’s to the owners switching blankets, double blanketing, or cleaning out shelters for their unblanketed horses. Here’s to the owners who are worried if their horse is staying warm enough with or without their blanket.

Here’s to the owners who are throwing countless flakes of loose hay out while making sure the round bale feeders don’t go empty.

Here’s to the owners praying that equipment starts, and hydraulics work smoothly. Here’s to the owners who figure it out when the equipment fails you.

Here’s to the messy mud room, filled with winter bibs, charged heated vests, boot dryers plugged in, and headlamps charged. Here’s to the countless pairs of gloves you have to swap out each time you venture outside.

Here’s to the rigorous training schedules, riding lessons, and busy barn coming to a halt. Here’s to putting the health of the animal’s first.

Here’s to the part of horse management that isn’t so glamorous. Thank you for all you are doing for the safety and wellbeing of your horses during this time.

For the month of December we offered a Riding Challenge in our barn to keep everyone motivated to stay in the saddle through winter. Of course there was a prize to the winner - but with a race this close, we ended up giving away two prizes 😁

Mya & Hootie - 17 hours!
Emery & Gunsmoke - 16 hours & 49 minutes!

That’s a CLOSE race! Proud of their dedication to their horses and riding, great work girls!

It was tough to choose between all the applicants - but we are so excited to introduce Ruby Roberts and Hayley Sondgeroth to our team for 2024!

Ruby has been with us for a couple years now and we are so proud to see how she has grown with her mare, Cardi! Ruby takes occasional lessons with Alex and always jumps at the opportunity to learn! We are looking forward to helping this team excel in 2024

Hayley is new to us, but we love her already! Hayley has always stood out with her kindness and willing to lend a helping hand. Hayley and her mare Classy have accomplished so much together, and we are looking forward to supporting them in their 2024 season!

We were happy to host Itasca County 4-Her’s first horseback drill team practice tonight! Great work ladies! Coaches included! ❤️

People ask about my hay feeders all the time so I thought I’d post a video of putting out a bale this morning. WE DO NOT SELL THESE - I buy Century Lovestock Feeders from your local feed/dealer. I buy my nets from HayChix. Again, we do NOT SELL THESE FEEDERS! SO EASY. We have 5x6 hay nets from HayChix that we zip tie open to the bottom of our polyfeeders! These feeders are super light and super durable with 35 different kinds of horses on the property we haven’t had any damage! No more having to pull a net over a bale, hope it doesn’t get caught on your spear, and worrying about being able to close the net. It is SO HANDY! Really makes feeding a breeze! Kristine Saxton of KR Acres in Hill City is a dealer for these feeders and has some in stock! All of our nets are from HayChix and they have sales often 🤗

“Easter” the gypsy goes home tomorrow! She will be back here this spring for more miles on the trails, she will be ready to hit the trails with her mom in no time. Videos taken today, Easter needed some confidence with trailer loading as she hasn’t done it much! It’s been fun learning what makes her work, very praise driven - more so than your average horse. See you next spring, Easter! Thanks Peggi for sending her to JA Horse Co to be started under saddle❣️

“Marley” is a gorgeous champagne dun filly I had for 2 weeks for some groundwork training. She learned how to give and move from pressure, tie quietly, lunge, flex, pick up all 4 feet, trailer load and of course plenty of desensitizing. All of this she had never done before! She even got her first official farrier trim while she was here. Marley will be returning to JA Horse Co in a couple of years to be started under saddle. Such a nice 2 yr old, looking forward to having her back! I believe each horse learns at its own pace. I do my best to create a well rounded, willing to please horse while accomplishing the goals the owner would like to see. My training program includes 1 free lesson for each week that your horse is with me, to encourage success when it is time to take the horse home. Call/text today to reserve a spot for training September is FULL Taking deposits for October & November $650/mo, includes all care.
