Fun fact! This is what we train our dogs to track. This is the interdigital gland on a deer. Alot of people think they are trained to track blood. Blood does help and they can smell it along with other scents. But we get calls alot of the time when blood runs out. This is why we train them to track this gland. Each deer has there own specific scent from this gland. I like to think of it like our fingerprint. This is how the dog knows to stay on the deer we are tracking and not another deer that may have crossed the track.

Most people innately reject basic discipline with a puppy. They love their fragile puppy and they certainly do not want to hurt or scare them. Basic punishment that scares more than it hurts is invaluable for a pups development. It teaches boundaries, respect, trust, his to deal with minor stress, and will improve and enhance relationship rather diminish it. With young puppies I punish for harsh biting
