And...... note: the article specifically states that the 10 dogs studied did NOT have attachment issues. Dogs with any significant degree of separation anxiety are highly unlikely to behave in the same manner.

A male cat is neutered only once. However, each male cat neutered is a giant leap towards decreasing the feral cat population of the future and for that single male - his quality of life will be greatly improved (having less desire to fight other tom cats resulting in injuries and the decreasing the spread of FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus)) in the feral population.

Initial series (based upon weight):
0-20lbs: initial 3 vaccinations @ 4wk intervals, then yearly booster
21-100lbs: initial 2 vaccinations @ 4wk intervals, then yearly booster
>100lbs: initial 3 vaccinations @ 4wk intervals, then yearly booster

Vaccine may be given to healthy dogs, 4mths of age and older.
Annual vaccinations best scheduled just prior to snake season (in Texas - late February and early March).

Freaky Friday... Ear Mites!

Here’s a Friday Freaky for you! These parasites were harvested from the ear of cat and identified microscopically in this short video. Ear mites are common in both dogs and cats. They are also transferable amongst animals! They feed upon the wax and oils inside your pet's ears and multiply rapidly. The most common signs of ears mite infestation are continuous scratching/shaking of the head and a dark, dry debris accumulation in the ear canals.
