Southcentral Veterinary Services is a mixed animal practice serving Warren and surrounding counties in Bowling Green, KY. At Southcentral Veterinary Services, we are committed to comprehensive care and service for companion, equine and food animals. We offer a variety of services including small and large animal care, orthopedic surgery, vaccines, wellness, dentistry, radiographs, ultra sound and

farm calls. Our goal is to provide individualized treatment and care for each of our patients. Dr. Grimes will make sure you understand the procedures and/or treatments being done and answer any questions you might have about your animal. 🎉💙Happy Birthday SVS!💙🎉
Today we are turning •F•O•U•R•T•E•E•N•! On our opening day—January 11, 2011—snow had cancelled schools, our building was yellow and our only appointment was a “no show”.

GRATITUDE: Over these last fourteen years we’ve grown, just a little—thanks to YOU! Today, we experience a little déjà vu as snow covers Bowling Green once again, but we have so much gratitude for having an amazing team, a state-of-the art hospital and the support of our community for the opportunity to live out our small business dreams every single day.

PASSION: From day one, the passion we have for this profession is key to providing the best pet care possible. While in high school, Dr. Grimes’ parents offered him two pieces of advice which would ultimately foster his decision to pursue veterinary medicine: “When you enjoy what you do, it is not always work” and “When you have a passion for your work, the good Lord will provide for you and your family, all while allowing you to give more than you receive.”

COMPASSION: Remember being the person on the other side of the exam table allows us to connect with our clients in a special way. Family is very important to us and our practice was built on the relationships we have mentored over the years. Treating others the way we would want to be treated provides the compassion needed to care for your pets.

❄️Snow Alert❄️
Whether you’re happy or sad that snow is headed to Southern Kentucky,
now is the time to prepare to keep your furry friends safe. Check out these tips:

❄️Provide a warm shelter. (Bring pets inside when possible.)

❄️Check often for fresh, unfrozen water. (Freezing temps, means frozen water.)

❄️Make noise before starting your car. (Some animals will try to stay warm by hiding under the wheel.)

❄️Check their paws. (Frostbite can injure the pads of their paws. Wipe the pads with a dry, warm cloth when the pet comes inside.)

❄️Recognize the sign of trouble. (Your pets could be at risk of hypothermia if shivering, whining or activity is slowed.)

Remember if you are cold, your pet is cold too. Stay safe, keep warm!

🐾Feed a Healthier Diet—Avoid table scraps, instead, choose a high-quality pet food containing all the essential nutrients to support their overall health.

🐾Brush Your Pet’s Teeth—Daily finger brushing will help prevent plaque and tater buildup, gum disease and bad breath.

🐾Regular Parasite Prevention—Stay consistent with preventive treatments, protecting your pet against fleas, ticks and heartworms.

🐾Update Your Pet’s ID Info—Microchipping is the best tool to reuniting you and your pet if your furry friend ever becomes lost. If you have moved, update their identification to ensure they find their way home safely.

🐾 Schedule a Wellness Exam with your Veterinarian—Regular veterinary check-ups are important for detecting any health issues early.
