☀️ Mother Nature came to play today and we are getting our first good dose of summertime weather at STF….

Because our four legged partners deserve the best, they were treated to a spa day… every single one of them. Steph, Jenna, Steffie and Betsy made sure they felt pampered and loved. 🥰

A cold hose, some chilled fruit, and some time in front of the fan. Quinn was really hoping for some cucumber eye patches, I told him next time Buddy! 🚿 🍉

This is a son writing about growing up on a farm with a mom who’s one of the best trainers around. At one point or another, she’s taught many of the trainers now working at other barns, and she’s dedicated her life to this world.

The pendulum swings every year in this business, but it has to be a passion you can’t live without to keep going. You have to love the people you teach. You have to care deeply about watching them grow—and, when the time comes, be strong enough to let them go when life or horses take them elsewhere.

If I could snap my fingers, we’d have a full barn—75% boarders, 25% lessons. A place filled with kids and adults learning, laughing, and riding every day. And my mom? She is still be up at 7 AM, teaching until 7 PM—because there’s nothing better to her than seeing someone get their first canter, clear a crossrail, or jump 4 feet and wear that grin.

I say all this because this article matters.
It’s important for lesson families, boarders, and future horse people to know: it takes a village to do this.
Whether it’s a backyard barn with two stalls or a Kentucky bluegrass estate with money to burn—it’s about heart.
And she’s got it in spades.

To my mom and a 2nd mom to many at the barn for over 5 decades…. I hope you all have a great day and mom I hope you teach at least one lesson today which is your favorite thing to be doing and that work ethic has made me who I am today. Love you and have a great day.

The amazing Meredith holding on to the one and only Biggie Smalls where he is not happy to not be running in the sand ring while it’s being dragged… He thinks he is stronger than a tractor.

It’s the first good day of the spring and the outdoor is getting its first dragging! Mom doing her thing with one dog in her lap and the other following along making sure all is safe and secure.

I don’t want to be the one to say it, but my mom is pretty bad ass. Can’t wait to get home and take on all the jobs off her plate.

Xoxo Mom

This is Al ! Al is about 16.2 - 16.3, quarter horse cross gelding about 12 years old.

Al is excellent on the trails, he ships, clips, easy to work around, and has done a few smaller horse shows over fences and has worked a bit in our school. He has recently been part leased by a great young rider who rode and showed him.

Al would be a great husband horse as he is a good size and capable of carrying weight.
