The researchers found among 271 horses tested, 25.5% were positive for Anaplasma phagocytophilum antibodies, indicating exposure. And seventy seven percent (77.1%) of horses tested were positive for the presence of Borrelia burgdorferi (Lymes Disease) also indicating exposure.

Both A phagocytophilum and B burgdorferi are important tick-borne infections. The study provides prevalence data for both A phagocytophilum and B burgdorferi and compares test performance. For serologic detection, IFA detected antibodies to A phagocytophilum in a higher proportion (41.3%) of horses....

Cucumber Seeds

Cucumber seeds have been used as an all-natural treatment to remove tapeworms within the digestive tract. The powder of cucumber seeds can be used to treat tapeworms but also consumed even if you do not have a parasite, as a preventative measure.

That is because cucumbers are of course are also a vegetable. They are effective due to enzymes within the cucumber and seeds that kill tapeworms. Look for heirloom cucumber seeds, grind into a powder and add 1 tsp. to a smoothie daily during your cleanse.

These natural remedies fight parasites lurking in your body.

Johnsongrass is a warm season perennial grass that can reach 6-7 feet tall. It’s easy to spot along roadways this time of year, and can quickly move into hayfields (or pastures that aren’t mowed often), since it thrives in the hot July/August weather when our cool-season grasses aren’t growing. In cattle it causes nitrate and cyanide poisoning when the plant is stressed. In horses, it causes neuropathy (nerve damage) and teratogenesis (damage to fetus). Symptoms occur weeks to months after continually grazing Johnsongrass and at any growth stage of the plant. Nerve damage is generally permanent. The good news is that Johnsongrass does not tolerate frequent mowing. Keep it mowed below 8-10”, or spray with Roundup, and you’ll eventually kill it (it may take several seasons).
