We're doing something new this year! No guarantees how they will turn out (because, dogs...), but I'll be taking pictures of all my boarders with a Holiday background while they're here and will be texting them to their parents. Hopefully I'll get good at this so we can make it a thing every year!!

And I want to send out a heartfelt thank you to all my clients, both two- and four-legged, who helped to support small, local business this year. You really have no idea how much of a difference you make.

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE POST.

For all my loyal and beloved clients, I would like to share the latest news at Bifrost Farms. Some of you may know that I am deeply involved in the Great Dane Rescue of MN & WI and The Great Dane Sanctuary. There have been some changes that have ultimately been a good decision for the rescue as a whole, which manifested in my taking the four Sanctuary boys who remained in Siren, WI and keeping them here at Bifrost Farms. Unfortunately (but fortunately for them), that means a little less space for boarding. I'd just like to caution people that it might be necessary to make you reservations sooner rather than later sometimes, especially during summer and holidays.

That being said, even before the Danes came here, I had planned to implement a small price increase this fall. It's been over four years since our last increase and we all know how much prices have risen for everything, especially since Covid. I will be posting a sign in the office to remind people, but also wanted to post it here. This increase will enable us to maintain the personal service you have come to love and anticipate.

Effective September 15, 2024, overnight fees will be $29/night. For additional dogs in the same family, the charge will be $27/night. Any reservations made before 9/15/24 will have the current price of $24/night honored.

I am not shaming anyone. I realize that there are very good breeders out there, who have nothing but the betterment of the breed in mind and who are responsible, ethical and treat their dogs like family.

However, I also know there are people who look at their dog and say, "He/She is a great dog. I bet they'd have awesome puppies." Just no. Don't, please.

It’s mowing season for the dog yards. And please don’t forget to treat your pooch for flea and tick before boarding. We’re seeing them in droves this year.

As a service provider, I’m always trying to improve things for my clients, both two-legged and four. What types of products would you like to see here when you drop off, or pick up your pup?

We already provide a nice assortment of CBD products to help make your pets visit less stressful. But I’m thinking some of you might like to purchase chew sticks, dehydrated beef liver or extra treats your fur baby could enjoy while here. Let’s hear some suggestions!!

These are a few of the products we like for our personal family members.

Odor-free, made in USA bully sticks

Non-rawhide rawhides (easily digestible to prevent blockages).

Green tripe chew sticks

Bernie’s Perfect P**p pre- and probiotics, with digestive enzymes. These make great toppers over food.
