PLEASE READ THE WHOLE POST.

For all my loyal and beloved clients, I would like to share the latest news at Bifrost Farms. Some of you may know that I am deeply involved in the Great Dane Rescue of MN & WI and The Great Dane Sanctuary. There have been some changes that have ultimately been a good decision for the rescue as a whole, which manifested in my taking the four Sanctuary boys who remained in Siren, WI and keeping them here at Bifrost Farms. Unfortunately (but fortunately for them), that means a little less space for boarding. I'd just like to caution people that it might be necessary to make you reservations sooner rather than later sometimes, especially during summer and holidays.

That being said, even before the Danes came here, I had planned to implement a small price increase this fall. It's been over four years since our last increase and we all know how much prices have risen for everything, especially since Covid. I will be posting a sign in the office to remind people, but also wanted to post it here. This increase will enable us to maintain the personal service you have come to love and anticipate.

Effective September 15, 2024, overnight fees will be $29/night. For additional dogs in the same family, the charge will be $27/night. Any reservations made before 9/15/24 will have the current price of $24/night honored.

I am not shaming anyone. I realize that there are very good breeders out there, who have nothing but the betterment of the breed in mind and who are responsible, ethical and treat their dogs like family.

However, I also know there are people who look at their dog and say, "He/She is a great dog. I bet they'd have awesome puppies." Just no. Don't, please.

As a service provider, I’m always trying to improve things for my clients, both two-legged and four. What types of products would you like to see here when you drop off, or pick up your pup?

We already provide a nice assortment of CBD products to help make your pets visit less stressful. But I’m thinking some of you might like to purchase chew sticks, dehydrated beef liver or extra treats your fur baby could enjoy while here. Let’s hear some suggestions!!

I'll bet there are a ton of chews being enjoyed by many dogs after the holidays. Afterall, they make excellent stocking stuffers!!

They have assured me that these are very safe because they are NOT rawhide, despite their look. My Great Danes love them and for a smaller dog, they will last forever. :) We offer these at the kennel for $10 each. Stop by or call today for your pet's health.

Do your dog a favor and stop giving them rawhide chews. They are a common source of blockage and choking.

Do you store your dog food in a different container than what it came in? I know that I ask my clients to please bring their dog's food in a metal or plastic container with a tight fitting lid. We can't help that there are small creatures who love the smell of dog food and will find SOME WAY to get in the kennel to inspect. However, putting food in an airtight container vs an open bag, plus with the help of Elle, our Kennel Kitty, we keep that all under control.

But that's a different post. What I'm really here for is to remind you to either put the whole bag of food inside whatever you are storing it in at home, or cut off the important information like expiration date and batch number, IN CASE OF RECALL!

If you’ve ever visited here, there’s a good chance you had to wait a couple of minutes for me to put Ollie in his own private kennel before you could come inside. He is our resident rescue Dane and oversees all Shenanigans happening by the other boarders.
