We recently attended the annual American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Convention in Austin, Texas. AVMA is a great organization that supports the veterinary industry with resources, guidelines and research, including a recent survey that found 13 percent of U.S. households own a specialty or exotic pet.

This routine checkup was in the Rio de Janeiro Zoo on a Puma Concolor.

The animal was placed under general anesthesia using TIVA, and the 4 syringe pumps digiPUMPs were infusing Propofol, Lidocaine, Ketamine, and Remifentanil; it also had a Central Venous Pressure catheter and invasive pressure monitoring. The animal was monitored by the LifeWindow LW8sv and ventilated by the digiVent not shown in the picture.

❤️ On this National Mutt Day, we want to share the heartwarming story of one of our dedicated team members, Terri, an Account Executive here at Digicare Animal Health. 🐶✨

Terri's journey with a unique English Bulldog mix named Shrek began when he was just an 8-week-old puppy with crooked legs. As a congenital issue was discovered, Shrek spent time in a kennel while decisions were made about his future. But Terri couldn't resist his charm and decided to take him home to attempt his rehabilitation.

With love, patience, and countless hours of work, Terri and her husband dedicated themselves to helping Shrek build up his muscles and overcome his mobility challenges.

Today, Shrek is a happy and healthy 3-year-old who runs, plays, and enjoys life to the fullest. His crooked front legs are a testament to his journey, but they haven't stopped him from living his best life.

Terri's story showcases the incredible bond between humans and their furry companions. It reminds us of the resilience and joy that mutts bring into our lives.
