We officially have a logo!!😍 BIG THANKS to the incredible and creative for coming up with the amazing options and our final product. She has so many talents and graphic design is definitely one of them. Thank you Amy!!🙌

We are excited to grow and a logo is a fun part of that process. It warms my heart to honor our OG pets Marley and Ziggy who were with me when I started pet sitting 15+ years ago until we had to let them go to the rainbow bridge a few years ago. They are forever in my heart and engrained in my company, which was founded on love and is how we still operate today. I’m going to share a pic of them and our original “logo-ish” with Marley, and also some of the other options we were considering, which we will likely use for other fun projects along the way. They are all so cute Amy had to help me choose bc I love them all!

When I realized we didn’t have any cats showcased on our page yet, I knew I had to start with my number one boy, my first pet chosen on my own, my sweet tabby cat Ziggy.

Ziggy was mine the day I adopted him from the humane society at 18. On my our way home we stopped to pick up some cat essentials from the pet store. We walked in and this beagle popped his silly face up to greet us, and we knew instantly he was ours. Or maybe I knew instantly and Ziggy may have rather chosen a mouse to play with instead.

But he and Marley became fast friends. And the three of us were a team. We played together and had so many fun times, they held me accountable, we grew up together, and we loved each other. They were with me when I first started pet sitting and working in Vet Med and all they would be so good with the strange animals I would bring into the home (which happened often as I also found myself rescuing animals frequently) and on the occasion we would stay at someone else’s house they would come along for the adventures (some more successful than others, not like that time Marley ruined my customer/actual boss’s bathroom door by scratching it up)…

But they were my family and we had lots of love to share. They were my ride or dies. I was always so grateful for them. But unfortunately time is cruel and they are here only in spirit. I got good amounts of time with them, but it’s never enough. I would have kept them for forever. Instead, we love them enough to let them go.

Joining Instagram and paying respect to our OG spokesdog Marley🐶 the king beagle 👑

When we first started pet sitting together our original name was “Marleys Mom Sits.” Which I thought was a cute play on words and also because Marley was the boss.
But no one else really got it so we changed it to The Pet Next Door!
Yes I’m a 90s/2000’s gal and was obsessed with the reality show The Girls Next Door. And I love sitting for a truly good pet next door! All of the dogs next door actually.
