Spring is about here, and that means we will be getting out with our pets more! If you have an older pet that is stiff and sore after increased exercise, acupuncture is a good option for helping back and other joint pain and inflammation. I recommend three treatments 7-10 days apart in the beginning, then as needed for maintaining relief. Acupuncture does not necessarily replace the use of anti-inflammatory and pain medications, but is a good adjunctive treatment that can reduce the amount of medication your pet may need.
