Hey y’all! This lil guy is names Crispy, and we saw his recently for some skin and allergy issues. He was such a sweet sweet boy that we all wanted him to stay with us forever! Thankfully we were able to treat him with a course of antibiotics and a Cytopoint injection. We love him and hope he is feeling better soon.

🐾 Limit outdoor time—short walks only!
🐕 Wipe paws after walks to remove salt or chemicals.
🛋️ Keep them cozy indoors—pets can get frostbite, too!
🍲 Check water bowls often to prevent freezing.
🔒 Bang your car hood before starting up—cats love warm engines!

Biscuit 🐾🩵

Biscuit stopped in to see us due to limping. After our team performed radiographs it was determined Biscuit had fractured his paw. Our team placed a bandage to stabilize the fracture and our doctor prescribed medication to help with the pain. We are so happy we could help you on your road to recovery Biscuit ❤️‍🩹

Pet parents often ask, "What happens during my pet’s examination at UrgentVet?" Great question!
A veterinarian physical exam is a complete checkup to make sure your pet is in tip-top shape! The vet carefully examines key areas, like your pet's eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and teeth, looking for any signs of infection or illness. They’ll listen to the heart and lungs, check the skin and coat for parasites or any unusual changes, and gently feel the abdomen to make sure everything’s in order internally. The vet also checks joints and muscles to identify any pain or stiffness. Finally, if needed, a neurological exam is conducted for pets showing any signs of neurological conditions. This thorough approach helps catch any health issues early, keeping your pet happy and healthy for the long run.

Loki stopped in due to a possible abscess on his re**um! Luckily during our nose to tail exam our doctor was able to determine that Loki was actually dealing with an a**l gland issue! We expressed Lokis a**l glands and he was back to his happy go lucky self!! 🐾🩵

This sweet baby giving our team member hugs is Ivy.

Ivy stopped in to meet our team due to hematochezia (blood in bowel movements). We were told she gives the best hugs which of course we had to confirm… it is 100% true!!!
After our cuddle sesh we performed diagnostic bloodwork and a f***l. Luckily she came back clear! 🎉

Ivy received some treatments in clinic and medications to go home 🩵🐾

The holiday season is always full of surprises and touching stories, but this particular one warmed the hearts of our team. This past Thanksgiving, Jenn, a Girl Scout Troop Leader and one of her Girl Scouts, Anita, entered our clinic with a feral cat. Anita had been caring for this furry friend, who had made her neighborhood its home for the past three years. One evening, she called Jenn desperately seeking help after she discovered that her furry friend had been attacked and was near death.

Jenn sprang into action, bringing Anita and Ember into UrgentVet Cary, NC. She was prepared to have the difficult conversation with Anita, explaining that the cat might not survive the attack. Thanks to the UrgentVet Cary team, Ember is almost fully recovered! Jenn reports that Anita has been doing an amazing job looking after him and his wound as he continues to recover at her house.

Anita was prepared to sacrifice all the money her mom had saved for her Christmas presents to save Ember’s life. While Jenn had the resources to help, and our team had the means to save Ember, we knew this story didn’t end there.

The team at UrgentVet Cary was so touched by Anita’s dedication this animal in-need, that they rewarded her with a $300 gift card. We hope she continues to nurture her love for animals, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things Anita will do in the future!

While you’re prepping for tomorrow’s feast, keep these tips in mind to keep your furry family safe:
🍗 Watch the menu. Avoid sharing turkey bones, rich foods, or anything with onions, garlic, or spices.
🧺 Secure the trash. Curious noses can find harmful leftovers.
🍫 Skip the sweets. Chocolate, xylitol, and raisins are toxic to pets.

Halloween is tomorrow! 👻 Before the fun starts, let’s make sure your pets stay safe:
🍬 Hide the candy - Chocolate and sugar-free treats can be toxic, so keep them far from curious noses.
🕯️ Skip the candles - Battery-operated lights are a safer bet around wagging tails.
🚪 Calm the chaos - If your pet gets nervous with all the doorbell ringing, set them up in a quiet room with their favorite toy.
🦴 Keep costumes comfy - If your pet's not into dressing up, a festive collar works just as well!

Tate the cat got himself into quite a catch! 🐟

This adventurous kitty ran out of the house and came back with a fish hook stuck in his paw. His owner rushed him to UrgentVet, where we carefully removed the hook and made sure he was comfortable.
