Canine and feline friends helping save the lives of your beloved pets, one unit of blood at a time! Vaccines as per AAHA recommendations included annually.

If your pet meets the following requirements please reach out! Canine Donors
1-8 years of age, never bred, weigh >50 pounds
Healthy (no diseases/medications, on heartworm, flea & tick preventative)
Friendly, easy to restrain, no aggression
Up to date on vaccinations
No prior transfusions
Able to donate every 2 months (6/year for a minimum of 2 years)

Feline Donors
1-8 years of age, never bred, we

igh >10 pounds
Healthy (no diseases/medications, on heartworm, flea & tick preventative)
Friendly, easy to restrain, no aggression
Up to date on vaccinations
Indoor only
No prior transfusions
Able to donate every 2 months (6/year for a minimum of 2 years)

Donor Benefits:
Free annual Heartgard and Nexgard, free annual bloodwork and infectious disease testing. Blood products at no charge when needed in the future.

KAROT is one of our new feline blood donors. She is a 4y old kitty that was rescued and loves her bed and food bowl, but is willing to help save lives because we give her treats!

Cooper was found or rather found us 3 summers ago. We posted flyers, checked with local shelters and posted on Facebook. On our last day in the mountains of Northern VA we took him to the county animal shelter. We were told that the shelter was full and no guarantee he would not be transferred to a no kill shelter. That day a man called claiming Cooper. We took Cooper to his former owner who we found out kept Cooper in a crate for 14 hours a day 4 to 5 days a week. We just couldn’t let Cooper go back to being caged again. So he came home with us and after 6 months of building trust he finally realized we would not abandon him. He always has a smile and a wagging tail for everyone. We want him to be able to give back to other dogs in need now.

Sophie Lee is our one-year-old pure European basset hound. Her sweet disposition and calm temperament make her an absolute joy to be around. Sophie Lee is overflowing with love and affection, always there to shower everyone with cuddles. She loves to give hugs, and can always bring a smile to your face. We are super excited that she is now a blood donor to support other dogs in need.

Gordo is a 5yo DSH who recently became a blood donor for VMC. His favorite toy is his laser pointer and he is always snuggling with his stuffed carrot. Gordo loves to spend his free time donating blood to other kitties in need!

Charlie was a “failed foster” rescue from Husky Haven of Florida rescue group. Charlie was a stray being held at Miami Dade Animal Control. They dubbed him “Colton” and discovered he was positive for parvovirus and was suffering from a very severe skin infection. We are glad he is able to give back to other pets in need by being a blood donor.

Kobe and Kiloh have been fabulous blood donor brothers, but had to retire due to moving out of Florida. Together they both donated over 3L to dogs in need!

Saving lives is as easy as pie sometimes….. our donors have been pretty busy keeping up with the consistent demand for blood products by our furry companions. We are more than grateful for their donations. They get treated to mani pedis and teeth brushing to freshen those pearly 🦷 😉

Super thankful for our latest blood donations!! Spider Pig, Dexter, Sophia, and Dusty were so well behaved and loved all the love attention and SNACKS post donation 😇 wonderful pets and wonderful families

Charlie’s first donation went so perfect. We can’t wait to see him again! Genie is one of our emergency technicians cat and has donated before! We always appreciate him coming in despite that resting grouch face 😇

Cheers to 2023 🥂🎆 We have said it once and we will continue to say it. WE COULD NOT DO WHAT WE DO WITHOUT YOU! The gratitude we have for our donors and their families is without end. Each one is so special to us and we are eager to donate NEW donors in 2024 that we didn’t get a chance to this year.
