Our fearless Carrie is our first Spotlight Employee of 2025. Carrie is an invaluable member of our staff. Her main role is Veterinary Assistant, however she wears many hats in the clinic. From Technician to Assistant to Reception and to Kennel, she is capably and is always willing to perform any clinic position.

It has come to our attention that around noon today our Gmail account had been hacked, the email that pertains to this incident is [email protected]. The subject is: Compulsory Vaccine Schedule. This did not come from DeSoto Animal Clinic, it apparently contains an attachment, please do not open that email or click on the attachment. We have contacted Google in regards to this.

We are so honored to have six fabulous veterinary technicians who work for us. At our clinic, veterinary technicians make such a difference in the lives of our patients, they perform all types of tasks from routine and preventative medicine functions, to surgery and dentistry, to assisting with life saving measures. DeSoto Animal Clinic and Bradenton Veterinary Emergency are still closed until further notice, due to power loss, we are unsure when it will return. Any appointments will be rescheduled as soon as we are operational again. If your pet is having an emergency, please contact Veterinary Medical Center of Lakewood Ranch, 941-739-1800.

HURRICANE UPDATE:

DeSoto Animal Clinic will be open on a very limited basis tomorrow (Tuesday 10/8/24) to see emergencies. Due to potential staffing limitations, DeSoto Animal Clinic may need to close early, so please call before driving to the clinic. Unfortunately, DeSoto Animal Clinic will be closed Wednesday (10/9/24) and Thursday (10/10/24) and Bradenton Veterinary Emergency will be closed on Tuesday (10/8/24), Wednesday (10/9/24), and Thursday (10/10/24) due to Hurricane Milton. We want to make sure we provide our staff with time to make storm preparations or evacuate. We know this will create some inconveniences for our clients and patients but we must help to ensure the safety of our staff. We will hope to be open again on Friday (10/11/24) depending on our ability to function and provide care to our patients.

Possibly on Tuesday, definitely on Wednesday, DeSoto Animal Clinic and Bradenton Veterinary Emergency will be closed during the hurricane. You can call us to check our operational status at 941-748-2637.

The clinic faired well, as of now we are open, however we still have partial power, no x-ray machine and we are running with a smaller staff. We limiting our schedule to previously scheduled appointments and emergencies. Please call 941-748-2637 for emergencies, updates or questions. We are working diligently to get this resolved so we can be back at full capacity. Thank you for your patience!
