Does anyone need wet dog food and is able to pick up in Northwest Bradenton? We have a lot that was donated and we would like to share it with those in need. If anyone has friends or neighbors that need it- please let us know. You can private message us. If transportation is an issue- we can see if there are any volunteers able to help. This sweet little baby was rescued by Lisa-
A wonderful longtime animal
Lover experienced at tube and bottle feeding. A breeder reached out to her when she saw the puppy had a cleft lip. She was afraid the mom dog would hurt her or she would not be able to nurse properly. Well the puppy thrived under Lisa’s care and is now ready for her forever home. She is a purebred cocker- 11 weeks old. This breeder actually breeds for show- Dutchess is a beautiful cocker puppy and even more special because of her cleft. Energetic Luna is full of playfulness; inquisitive, loving and learning the ways of the world. She is approximately 18 months old and was raised around children and another dog from a puppy. She would be a great family Dog !! She gives great kisses, hardly barks, loves to be held, and is always carrying assorted toys, or sticks, around in her mouth. She will play happily with small balls or toys on her own or with other small dogs. This is a dog that, as she matures, can be taken with you on walks, shopping, and outdoor activities as she is around 12lbs and should not get much bigger. She has Maltese terrier type hair so will need regular grooming (the longer haired photo is from the day she arrived!) and would benefit from obedience training as currently she is only house trained, crate trained and walks on a leash. She knows common commands like Sit, No, Off, Stay. Her foster is working on basic skills around manners and boundaries as she can be very excitable. She will initially need a lot of time and attention from a new owner so not suitable for people who work outside the home. A family with a work at home mom or dad would be perfect! She has had her spay and is ready for her forever home. www.underdogadopt.com

Oh my goodness. Just picked up this puppy boy from the shelter. Isn’t he precious!? He is only about 3-4 months old. 8lbs. Looks like a Havanese mix (non shedding). Very fun and playful! We will get him cleaned up some, vetted and will post him on our website where you can apply to adopt once he is listed. Welcome to Underdog Rescue! I am calling him Nutter Butter.

Meet sweet Diego. We just rescued him yesterday from the shelter. He is sooooo happy to be out of there. He had stopped eating and was getting very depressed. (Don’t judge my xmas pjs…-lol)

Another storm! Here are some helpful hints. Also if anyone needs a travel crate or wire crate to move your pet safely-please let us know!

Here are some tips for keeping your dog safe during a hurricane:

Have a plan
Include your dog in your evacuation plan, and make sure you have a safe place for them to go.

Provide a safe space
Create a calm, enclosed space for your dog to hide in, like a closet or crate. Get calming treats or medication from the vet if they have anxiety.

Keep them inside
Don't leave your dog outside or alone at home.

Make them identifiable
Ensure your dog wears a collar and ID tags with your contact information. Microchipping your dog can also help them be returned to you if they get lost. Take a recent picture.

Prepare a kit
Have a pet first aid kit with supplies to help prevent serious injuries before you need to take your dog to the vet.

Have food and water
Make sure you have fresh food and water for your dog, as well as bowls and a can opener if they eat wet food.

Keep them happy
Have toys, treats, and medication on hand to keep your dog content.

Keep them up to date
Ensure your dog is up to date on their vaccinations, and keep records of their vaccinations.
Create a space inside for potty breaks. Not many of us or them want to go out in the middle of a raging storm. There are washablwe potty pads if your dog tears up disposable ones. You can also get ankid pool and fill it with turf and get a large exercise pen to put around it if you have space. (X-pen)

We just rescued this sweet little girl from the shelter. She has a broken pelvis and needs to be rehabed. What a beautiful girl. How could we say no to those eyes? 👀
