Handsome Ninja is looking for his forever home!

We have an amazing story of survival! We introduce you to 5 year old Ninja. This dream come true arrived on 11/8. Our Shelter Manager Lisa was contacted by a very loving lady almost a year ago who had a stray cat showing up to her house on Anna Maria Island. He was so skinny that she started feeding him. Over the last year, he has had some minor injuries and she wanted to trap him and see if we could take him into our adoption program. The problem was he wouldn’t get into a trap, which gave him the name Ninaj. He was already ear-tipped, so he had already been through our Trap/Neuter/Return (TNR) program so being brilliant, he knew what a trap was! We loaned her a kennel several months ago and she had been feeding him in the kennel and was slowly getting him used to having the door closed. AMAZINGLY, he made it through Hurricane Helene AND Hurricane Milton by hiding in her kayak. Recently he had been getting attacked by a new cat in the area so she was finally able to close the door and bring him in. Ninja, is actually super friendly and not feral at all and is cat friendly. He is learning to use a litter box and won’t have to live outside anymore. He’s going to make an amazing family member!
