I have been an animal person my whole life and have been grooming on and off for over 20 years. I learned to groom when I was in my teens, practicing on the neighbors dogs. Then I apprenticed with an experienced groomer and learned the trade. Always looking to expand my knowledge and do a better job I've now added a Hanvey Hair vac system to my shops. I promise to treat your pet with compassion an

d kindness all while getting the job done. Prices vary by dog and the job that needs to be done. Full clips start at $35 and up.

Good day all!!

I have a client looking for a dog. Does anyone have any idea of a pet somewhere who's looking for a new place to call home? A dog in need? He had a very large newfiepoo before so he's had large dog experience. Thanks!

Good morning everyone!!

So, I hate to post about this again, but it seems that many people take appointments that are made for them as a suggestion to show up for a grooming appointment and while I expect it to occasionally happen, it's a financial drain.

If you "forget" your appointment and do not show up....think about this now....as a business owner....that appointment is lost income and now that I've had no advanced notice I have no way to recoup that income....unless I charge you a no show fee, I'm a nice person and hate to do this.

Imagine you get your paycheck...you expect a certain amount each pay....and they "forget" to pay you wages for 3 hours work....well...that would suck right?

I have people calling me everyday for grooming, and I have to tell them I don't have space, because, I don't at the moment until August.....and then I end up having spaces I can't fill due to people "forgetting" their appointments.

Being self employed is hard enough without having to chase down people for missed appointments....fees or rescheduling.

Please, have some respect for the people you are employing to do a job for you, call, text, email, Facebook message....whatever works for you....and let me know that you cannot come to your appointment at least 24 hours in advance. Emergencies happen, I get that.....no issues there.

Hi Everyone!!

I hope everyone has a fabulous Holiday weekend coming up.

We will be working the entire weekend and Holiday but that's ok, it's easier to work the holiday than reschedule everyone on those days.

Just wanted to let you all know that I have very, and I mean very, limited spaces available in general at both locations for the next few months.

It's my birthday today and one thing that I would like to everyone to think about is this.

You need to EAT to LIVE.
Not LIVE to EAT.

Think about that a moment.

I've done a drastic turn around in my diet due to health issues that seemed to be spiraling out of control.

6 weeks and I've dropped 20 pounds.
6 weeks and my inflammation that would almost cripple me is gone.
6 weeks and my blood sugar is almost normal.
6 weeks and I've been cleared by my doctor to stop my Thyroid medication.

This is just the short list. There probably ten or more other things that have drastically improved but these are the major ones.

Just because we get old doesn't mean that we can't change. My doctor has been chalking all my symptoms up to "getting older".

I call bullsh*t and decided to take the bull by the horns.

I've done this on my own, no pills, shots or foolishness.

IF you want to make a change, YOU CAN.

Good Morning!!!

Today I have a treat for you all!!
Livestock Guardian dog lovers take note!!

This wonderful majestic young dog is looking for a new home. His name is Koda. Koda is an 18 month old Anatolian/Pyrenees mix...and I mean wow....can you get any more handsome? Being that both his breeds are flock herders/protectors he will need someone with some breed experience as while he's never known a day out in a field protecting sheep...those instincts are still in there so a fenced in yard is a must...or, if you're lucky enough to live on a farm, that would work too. He is up to date on all vaccines, neutered and microchipped.

At 18 months he's a big boy at 105 pounds but he's a gentle giant, loves to be brushed and pampered. Walks well on a leash and is house trained. He is the complete package so to speak.

He is typical of his breeds and is nervous at first but comes around fairly quickly as he figures out who is "flock" is and once settled is a fun and loving companion. He gets along with other dogs but can be a bit pushy sometimes and he get along well with cats.

Koda doesn't have many negatives but at 18 months old he is still a work in progress but he does know basic commands. He doesn't care for thunder or loud noises. His coat will need brushing and lots of it, again, this is typical of his breed mix, although, as his groomer, his coat is much more manageable than a Pyrenees.

Please message me if you think this large fluffy hunk of dog may be a good fit for you and your family.

Thank You!!

*Warning....it's kind of long....*

Good day all,

I appreciate all of my customers and their pets. I love my work and my business and am very thankful that I work a job that I enjoy. I have a few points here that I'd like to address.

I get calls everyday for grooming more and more dogs. My schedule is currently maxed out in Custer City....until well into June and Smethport has a couple Mondays where I can fit like one or two dogs in mid May. I thought that with more groomers opening up in Bradford that my business would slow down and that isn't happening.

When you cancel or try to reschedule an appointment, I do the utmost best that I can to get your pet rescheduled but sometimes, I just can't until their next appointment(most customers are on my schedule a certain number of weeks apart forever so I can insure a spot for them).

If you've canceled and you're expecting me to return your call asap.....believe me...I am working on it....however, I sometimes have to wait days and days(sometimes over a week) for a spot to open up to facilitate rescheduling.

That being said, here's an example of how quickly things can change around here, I had 11 appointments scheduled one day...way more than I should have but I'm a sucker and packed the day. This was over to the kennel so not only these 11 dogs to groom but also whatever kennel dogs need done after my appointments. Two of the dogs ended up being at the kennel for a stay....brings me down to 9 appointments, another asked to reschedule....brings it down to 8....a much better number to work with and still not going to replace those spots because it was already overbooked. Get a message the evening before that two more dogs cancelled their appointments.....so now I'm down to six appointments from 11. I call one of my regulars to fill a spot with 2 small dogs(she missed her regular scheduled appointment) and that's it...back up to 8 appointments and now at least 2 kennel dogs so still 10 grooms in total but we can make it work because we can work on the kennel dogs after the appointments. This is just one day of my scheduling....every dog that canceled needs rescheduled on an already booked schedule.

Eleven dogs on any day whatever the location is never ideal but sometimes the scheduling ends up this way. I have a hard time saying no and I understand that people cannot afford some of the prices at the other places, or they are unhappy with the amount of time the dogs have to stay.....or the quality of the work or whatever their reasoning is for coming to me, I try to make it work for them as their pets need grooming on a regular basis.

Some people get upset thinking that I don't want to groom their dogs because I don't communicate fast enough for their liking, it's never that, it's always because I have no space and as soon as I have something, I will call. I will also call you and let you know if I just do not have an appointment available....especially if my cancelation list is a mile long already and there probably isn't any way I can get you in anytime soon. Texting or messaging here is always the fastest way to contact me and get a response.

I've also had a couple people in the past say I "act" like I don't want to groom their dogs, 99% of the time it's because I tell them about their dogs lack of any good behavior for grooming or I cannot do the clip they want because the dog hasn't ever seen a brush at home(or a groomer till they are over a year old or more) and is matted, and honestly, they don't want to hear that. I will not sugar coat a dogs behavior. When people do not do any training at home, these dogs come to me and I have to train them how to behave for a groom. Why should any dog who is allowed to rule the roost at home behave for a groomer? They don't and it makes grooming 10 times harder on the pet and the groomer. It's unfair to any dog to not teach them basics like leash behavior, crate training, how to sit quietly, how to have their entire body handled, brushed, ears cleaned out, nails trimmed...etc. This can all be achieved in the home environment so much easier than I can do it once every 6-8 weeks...I do succeed over time...but it's a long road.

I guess what I'm getting at is I'm doing my best, at all times, even if you don't hear from me, I've gotten your message and I'm doing all I can to get whatever you need sorted out. Hang in there and I'll get back to you.

**Great Home Found!!**

Where are my dalmatian people? Here's your chance to have your very own spotted lovely. She's in need of a family she can call her own. She's a 2-year-old Dalmatian who is up to date on shots and spayed, gets along great with other dogs and cats. She's a little too friendly with the tinies but she gets along with older children great. Here is your one chance to own the perfect dog. I had one when I was a kid and he was the best dog I ever had. Pennsylvania lifetime license as well. Please message me for more information.

Good day all,

I have several voicemails and text messages etc. that I need to go through. I've been under the weather the past few weeks and have gotten behind on calls.

I just want to let you all know that I will get back to you, it just may take a few days or a week...lol.

Moving forward, we are going to be selective about who we take for appointments(clients on a regular schedule are not affected by this as they have appointments scheduled for the whole year, I'm more talking about clients who call once in a while and/or no show) as my husband and I are not getting any younger and we're maxing out every grooming day and it's taking a toll on our health.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Just to let my customers know what prices for grooms are in another shop less than 30 miles from me. These are prices people are paying. I will not be raising small dog grooms but doodles on the whole are going up a bit as will be large and XL long coated dog baths.

Large double coated dogs take the most time and the most effort to get all the undercoat out and get dry. Desheds are not an "additional" service in our business, desheds are a necessity for ANY double coated dog. However, it takes extra time and extra products to do a proper deshed, hence the extra cost increase.

Prices for doodles on a regular schedule that are maintained in a manageable clip will raise the least. Doodles that are kept longer or only get groomed a few times a year will get the most increase.

If the price increase is applicable to your dog, I'll let you know.

Thank you all for your continued trust with the grooming of your pets.
