If it is above freezing, ticks may be out! We are seeing a lot of tick-bourne illness in dogs lately! Keep your dogs on tick protection consistently, even through the winter. If it is above freezing for a day, they may be looking for a meal!
If you are concerned or want to test your dog for the most common tick illnesses we see, schedule an appointment to be safe!

The Wildlife Medical Clinic has been seeing an increased number of waterfowl diagnosed via PCR with Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI or bird flu) in the past week.

We are urging the public to avoid contact with sick or dead waterfowl. This disease is known to also cause potentially severe illness in humans and domestic animals. Avoid letting pets interact with or ingest any wildlife carcass.

PET FOOD ALERT: Following up on a case of H5N1 Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in a cat, testing performed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, state and local public health and agriculture partners, and federal partners suggests a link between the strain of H5N1 virus detected in the cat and in certain lots of RAWR Raw Cat Food Chicken Eats, a product the cat consumed before falling ill.

Having a litter of puppies comes with a lot of responsibility. These adorable pups came in with the rest of their family for exams and checking for worms ❤️
Don't forget puppies start their vaccinations 💉 as early as 6 weeks old. The puppy vaccines help protect them against Parvo Virus among other viruses they can contract.
