Good Morning!

Just a quick reminder that it's the last week of the month! Make sure that you reach out to reserve your dates/times for April if you haven't already. Payment for your lessons are due on the 1st to ensure that you're booked!
Please keep in mind that as the weather gets nicer, the barn gets busier. 🐴

Has Spring finally sprung??

It is the last week of February and this is your reminder to book for March!!
As always, new students can join any time during the month. If you haven't read our updated policy, please scroll down to do so now!

02/06/2025

Important Policy Update!!
Attention all current, returning, and new students! PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE UPDATE

As of March 1st, 2025, the barn will be switching to a prepaid lesson system.

WHY?

- We’ve been facing some scheduling challenges lately, and it's become evident that we need to improve our accountability in this area. Last year, the number of scheduled lessons that were missed not only impacted our barn financially but also created unnecessary stress for everyone involved. This is an attempt to increase accountability without resorting to monthly tuition. I appreciate everyone’s efforts and believe this will be a better solution.

So how is this going to work?

-To schedule March dates, reach out to me during the last week of February. We will find dates and times that work for you and tentatively write them in. Payment for March lessons will be due by the 1st at which point in time, your lessons will be secured. During the last week of March the process repeats.

-If you are a new student and would like to join mid-month, that is absolutely ok. Once again just reach out, we'll come up with a schedule and once you've paid, you may start.

-We are choosing to do this per month to avoid confusion in keeping track of how many prepaid lessons each individual has left. However, multiple months may be scheduled, paid for, and secured at once.

So how does this change affect students, while keeping to the business plan of offering affordable services?

-Students still have the option to book as often as they’d like (weekly/bi-weekly/etc). The difference is that I will only secure that students booking(s) when payment is made.

-If a student is in good standing with the business and cannot pay in full at the time of booking, arrangements may be offered to split the billing accordingly (1st and 15th of the month). The amount owed on those dates will reflect all lessons being scheduled between them.

What if you book but cannot make it to your lesson?

-If cancelled more than 24 hours prior to lesson time, you will have the ability to reschedule that lesson within the same month.

- We will do our best to accommodate last minute rescheduling due to illness/injury, but reserve the right to limit this if the reason is given too frequently.

-If there are less than 7 calendar dates left in the current month when you need to reschedule, you will be given 7 calendar dates from the date that the lesson was originally scheduled for to make it up.

-It will be YOUR responsibility to reach out and reschedule if you need to. If you choose not to, the lesson will be considered forfeited at the end of the month that it was scheduled in.

What about inclement weather?

-We will reach out in the event of severe weather and offer a reschedule.

-We reserve the right to switch to an unmounted barn lesson. There are many valuable things to be learned on the ground and in the barn!

-If you do not want to participate in an unmounted lesson, you can choose to forfeit that lesson. We encourage all students not to though!

Thank you all for your understanding! If there are any other questions, please drop them in the comments below so that I may address them!

We're celebrating 10 years of being established this year! That's 10 years of Lessons (here or at your barn), Leasing, and Training as a business (and many years before that!). But did you know that I do so much more than those three things? Exercise rides, barn sitting, helping prepare for horse shows, and day of show coaching and grooming are all things offered based on availability.
Maybe I'm thinking Spring already, but this should be yet another great year at the barn!

Looking for a present for that person with too many things? Give the gift of an experience!
Gift Certificates are available for purchase!
$60 for a two hour Beginners Day Lesson!
$40 per regular one hour Lessons!

Not only are you giving the gift of horses to someone you love, but your purchase will go directly to supporting the horses and barn needs through the winter months ❤️

Yes, it is cold. No, it is not too cold to ride! The horses have their Winter coats and are quite comfortable working currently!
So here are some Winter Tips!

1. Winter coveralls that are fitted properly can be ridden in. If you are cold, consider layering and wearing your coveralls.

2. Don't wear clunky gloves. If they are too big you will have to take them off to buckle things!

3. Insulated boots and boot socks. The combination can get your toes through some seriously cold weather working outside. Scarves are welcome as well!

4. For extra comfort, you can place a Hot Hands pouch in the toe of each boot and in each of your coat pockets to warm up your hands as needed.

5. Bring a hot drink in an insulated cup!

Lastly, remember that you're only out here for an hour. Continuing to ride through the winter keeps you moving forward in progress and keeps the horses fit. Keep a positive attitude and enjoy yourself! Riding in the snow is fun!

If the footing is too slippery, we can work on things in the barn. If the wind chill drops the temperature too low, I will reach out to cancel and reschedule your lesson. If roads become dangerous, by all means we will cancel and reschedule.

Now let's make this winter fun!

Holiday shopping is in full swing! Black Friday deals are everywhere! By all means, scoop up those steals and deals at the big stores. However, please pick up a few things from the local small business! You know, the parent of one of your kids friends? They're the first to donate or sponsor your community needs. They're feeling the pinch of the economy too! So when you're out shopping, grab coffee from the local coffee shop instead of the chain store. Get lunch at the local cafe. Get your stocking stuffers from the little stores downtown. Your support will make a difference to them! So please grab those deals, but remember to shop small and local as well!
Feel free to drop your favorite local small businesses in the comments so that we can all try to help them out, not just on Saturday, but this whole season! ⬇️

December starts our Winter Session and there will be some openings! The arena is outdoors so this is the perfect time to break out the thicker riding clothes and gloves (if you've ridden before, then you know how much you warm up while riding!). Whether you're riding in the snow, learning ground work with a horse, or learning in the barn, there are always plenty of reasons to come out for your lesson time.
There will be weekly and bi-weekly times available!
As always, make ups will be offered for lessons affected by the holidays.

Reach out and claim your ride time for the Winter Session!!! ❄️

Hello everyone!!

Our fall schedule started in September but a lot of changes have happened already! If you'd like to join in and secure your day and time, now is a great opportunity! 🍁🍂

As always, please remember that messages and texts are the BEST way to get a hold of me as I can quickly answer between lessons!

09/02/2024

It's Labor Day and the center is CLOSED today! Please enjoy your day everyone!

As always, you may call or text for scheduling and I will get back to you as soon as possible! Please understand that this is a small business. With an infant in the house and a busy schedule, texting is the fastest way to get answers!

On that note; THANK YOU to everyone that has been understanding throughout the last month especially. It's always the most chaotic month with vacations and getting the schedule figured out the first few weeks of school (there are students from many different districts!). Things are now set and I'm ready to continue adding to it!

Once again, thank you! I hope everyone enjoys their day off!

05/23/2024

Looking for a summer activity for yourself or your child?
We have openings for private lessons this summer!
-Improve your fitness
-Connect with an animal
-Learn new skills
-Have fun!

Most lessons are scheduled Monday through Thursday. Friday's are generally reserved for make-up rides. Lessons are still $40 for an hour.

The Summer Session runs from June until September (ending earlier for those that start school before then). Message, call, or text to be added to the schedule!

04/29/2024

The first week of May is upon us and I am getting back into the swing of things! Unfortunately I am waiting for the arena to dry out for lessons to start, but I'm hopeful that we will be good to go next week. Please reach out to get onto the schedule for this month or for the summer session that starts in June!
Thank you to everyone who was patiently waiting!

03/08/2024

This is just a friendly reminder to everyone that this is my last weekend of lessons before going on Maternity Leave! Even though I will be on leave, I will be available to answer questions and to schedule for the month of May. Please reach out if you'd like to get on that schedule! Also, feel free to let me know if you're open to being contacted in April if I decide to start back early!
Starting May 1st, I will be going down the list of current students to get them scheduled for the Summer Session (June-August).
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone back! Have a great spring! 🌷

12/31/2023

As we get ready to step into the new year, I would like to take a moment to post some updates, expectations, and gratitude.
First of all... A giant THANK YOU to all of my students this past year. You are all wonderful people who may have been learning from me, but I learn a lot as a teacher from you as well! I'm looking forward to another fantastic year!
Now for the updates and expectations!
I expect to continue with lessons into the winter until it gets too cold or the footing is slick. Please be ready for me to reach out to confirm or cancel lessons up to the day of. This is for the safety of everyone (and horse!). Any lessons cancelled due to weather are not charged to you.
Also, please continue doing a great job reaching out to cancel in the event of sickness. As a trainer, I would rather waive a lesson fee than have to cancel possibly a few days worth of lessons due to catching something you brought. Once again, there is no fee for cancellation due to sickness.
All of that being said, we work off of the honor system here. If you have many last minute cancellations due to sickness (with no underlying known health issues), I will start charging the lesson fee. Please remember that reserving your lesson time means that I'm not scheduling someone else. With the current business model, money from lessons goes straight to the care of the horses throughout the year (feed, bedding, farrier work, vetting, upgrading things around the farm, etc) which is quite costly. If you know that financially you cannot commit to a weekly day and time, you are welcome to contact me to schedule one lesson at a time. Please understand that I cannot guarantee that the day and time that you want may not be available if you schedule this way.
We will be taking a break from lessons from March until mid April (also dependant on weather) as we welcome and spend time with the nearest addition to the family.
Summer session will start the first week of June so current students should expect me to reach out in the beginning of May to solidify the summer schedule. Current students will get first pick of their day and time.
All of this being said, I'm looking forward to another great year with students and look forward to helping some more start their journey into horses!
As always, please feel free to reach out with questions or to schedule a lesson time!
Thank you,
Hannah
