💛 Maggie Is Ready for a Home to Call Her Own 💛

Maggie’s comeback story has been nothing short of incredible, and now this beautiful girl is ready for the best chapter yet: finding a home who will love her for the rest of her life.

After returning to Northern Lakes Rescue from an overcrowded shelter, Maggie arrived with significant hair loss and an old ACL tear. With veterinary guidance and lots of TLC, we’ve watched her transform:

✨ Her coat is filling in and looking better every day
✨ Her leg is improving, and she’s comfortable and happy without surgery
✨ She’s playing, exploring, and soaking up every moment

But Maggie’s personality is what steals hearts:

🐾 Loves walks and does wonderfully on leash
🐾 Snuggles like it’s her full-time job
🐾 No personal-space skills whatsoever 😅
🐾 Obsessed with her stuffies
🐾 Gentle, goofy, and endlessly loving

Now she just needs a human of her own (or a whole family!) to keep cheering her on.

We’re looking for:

💛 An adopter ready to welcome this sweet soul into their life

🌈 Heartbreaking Update on Sophie
It is with great sadness that we share that Sophie peacefully passed away this morning after a very difficult night. Our team, her devoted fosters, and her Oklahoma family are devastated. Please keep everyone who loved her in your thoughts and prayers. 💛🐾

Sophie has three sisters still in Oklahoma, and to ensure their safety, we are hoping to move forward with a necropsy to understand what happened to our sweet girl.

We would be entirely grateful for your support with her afterlife care, including:
• cremation
• paw print creation
• necropsy costs
Her vet bills from the past several days have also accumulated significantly as we fought alongside her.
If you’re able to help with these final expenses, it would mean the world to us and to the people who loved Sophie.

🚨 SOPHIE UPDATE 🚨

We want to be completely transparent: we still do not know what is wrong with Sophie. Her symptoms continue to shift, and despite multiple tests, there is no single test that can give us an immediate answer.

Because of the severity of her condition, Sophie is now staying full-time with our Vetting Board Director until further notice so she can be monitored around the clock.

She is *not* out of the woods.
But as long as Sophie keeps fighting, we will fight right alongside her.

❤️‍🩹 We desperately need your help.

Her vet bill is climbing quickly and will continue to rise until we can figure out what’s happening inside her little body. With rent due in just a few days, our finances are already stretched to the limit.

🚨 EMERGENCY HELP NEEDED FOR SOPHIE 🚨

Our sweet little Sophie needs our village today. 💔🐾

Last night, Sophie’s foster alerted us that this tiny pittie puppy wasn’t doing well. She stopped eating, became extremely lethargic, and her eyes began to swell. She was rushed to Brainerd, monitored overnight, and seen by our vet team today.

We still don’t know what’s causing her reaction, and she’s also very anemic. This sweet girl simply does not feel good. 💔

This unexpected emergency has created a growing vet bill, and we would be so grateful for any help toward Sophie’s care.

🚨🐾 Meet Benny — The Sweetest Gentleman Still Looking for a Foster or FTA🐾🚨

📍 Monticello, MN
Breed: Australian Terrier Mix
Color: White & Brown
S*x: Male (Neutered)
Age: 6 years, 8 months (Born 2/19/19)
Weight: ~40 lbs
Northern Lakes Rescue (Return)

Benny is a total lovebug who adores everyone — babies, kids, adults, and dogs of all sizes. He’s friendly, affectionate, playful, and loves ear scratches, car rides, adventures in the yard, and sharing a little ice cream on warm days. He’s great for baths, nail trims, and is fully crate-trained.

He’s healthy, up to date on vaccines, eats well, and has no known medical issues or aggression.

💛 Why He’s Back With NLR💛
Benny recently started digging under the fence and wandering off. His loving owner, who is 70 and lives alone, became worried about his safety and her own ability to chase after him. With his best interest at heart, she made the difficult decision to return him so he can find a safer environment.

• A family who will include him in their daily life
• Dog friends — he loves them!
