Novak Equine Center offers a safe and comfortable environment for horse lovers of all ages and riding levels to learn new skills and develop their existing foundation of horsemanship. Established in 2004, Novak Equine Center is a family owned and operated business situated on 140 rolling acres in the heart of the beautiful Brainerd Lakes area of Minnesota. You will find we offer a full range of eq

uestrian services including instruction, full-care boarding, horse training, showing, and sales of quality horses. We offer lessons for children as well as adults from beginning riders through advanced with focus and emphasis in western pleasure, showmanship, hunter and dressage disciplines. Having horses and riders ranked top in the nation, state, region and county, we offer ample opportunity for competing in horse shows from the local level through rated competitions. We opened for business in the fall of 2004. Jamie has been a professional trainer for several years, and has been an equestrian since the age of five. Paul has been involved in the farming industry for most of his life. The success of Jamie's training business allowed them to make the leap to owning their own facility. We were looking for a location with room enough that we could board our clients' horses and would allow for business growth for many years. To our great joy and amazement, almost immediately we were lucky to find our current facility. We are constantly adding features to Novak Equine Center, often small improvements here and there, to make our clients' experience here more enjoyable.

Hi Everyone! Thank you for the amazing response in horses for our lease program! We are so excited as our start date is approaching on June 22nd! We are still in need of horses that could be used on "Introductory games". This would mean lots of suppling exercises to educate the kids that want to do speed events to teach them that softness and control are as important or more so than speed. This would mean your horse would get used in trot and relaxed canter work around the patterns of the speed events to get a feel of whether this is what they would want to do as a discipline until a purchase of the one they would do the speed on. If you have a horse you would be good with being used in what I call "entry level" gaming and trail riding, please contact me. Thank you so much! 218-251-2470

We recently advertised for horse owners that had a horse just "hanging around" but is sound and could be used in our Lease Program. What a response! We can't thank you enough! As this Program grows, we will be calling on more of the owners that volunteered their horses.

The next step we need to fill is human volunteers! We have organized the riding program into classes with defined skillsets that need to be met before students can "graduate" to the next class level. At the end of each "graduation", students will receive a recognition award and demonstrate what they learned to parents, grandparents, or friends. In order to accomplish this, we need people willing to help as "handlers/instructors". It is a paid position. We will be holding these classes on Saturdays to start with.

Here are the requirements:

1.) Enjoys kids! Must be outgoing and enjoy helping young people to be safe and learn.

2.) Horse Experience! You don't have to have training knowledge or even be highly skilled; simply looking for people that have been around horses enough to know how to lead a horse and watch for any negative behaviors.

In a nutshell, be a passionate horse lover and outgoing toward youth! Handlers will be under my guidance and given guidelines and instructions of what we will be focusing on each class period.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in helping with, please contact me at 218-251-2470. I look forward to talking with you!

People interested in borrowing your horse out to our facility for a new "Lease or Lease-to-own" program. This program consists of one-on-one leases with clients that have graduated from the Lesson Horse Program at our facility and are ready to get a taste of more serious riding. Your horse would be boarded at our facility and treated with a high standard of care in feeding, grooming, hoof care, and physical development/maintenance through weekly lessons in my program.

If you have a horse at home that you don't have time for but don't want to sell (or would consider selling to the right home), here is an excellent option. Or if you have a son/daughter that went off to college and you are looking at their horse sitting in your back yard doing nothing....please consider letting us help you keep your horse in shape and put some money back in your pocket by saving you board and farrier expenses. Nothing like "having your cake and eating it too!"
