Happy Birthday to my best friend, Jackson. He is the big 15 today! While his age is definitely showing, he still remains a constant in my life. “A best friend is someone who loves you when you forget to love yourself. And dogs do that effortlessly.” ❤️ I can’t imagine my life without you and how different my life would be if you never entered it. We love you so much, bubbs. 🐶❤️🐾🐶❤️🐾🐶❤️

Sweet, little Ollie is starting private training to help build his confidence in different situations so he doesn’t feel like he needs to bark, growl, etc. He is so smart and his owner is dedicated to helping him!

Daisy is a typical teenage rescue dog. Being on leash is fairly new for her. Add that to being around 1 year old and we’ve got a recipe for barky lungy behavior. Luckily, she did great at our first out and about session on Monday! 🎉🎉

Bailey learning to go to place outside in different areas is a part of his training plan for leash walking. Why? Our goal here is to help him feel confident and safe enough to relax when outside. He did great with it at his session this week! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Sweet Cooper is a nervous little man who is scared in new situations and around people he doesn’t know. Luckily, his owners understand his behavior and looking to help Cooper build skills and confidence to be able to use in those situations where he is unsure. I’m very happy to be helping this guy on his training journey!

Kiah nailed her settle down exercises and is improving dramatically in her new home. Likely a teenager, she still lacks impulse control and has moments of big feelings but luckily her new family is committed to training her using positive reinforcement. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Sweet Daisy is learning how to navigate life in a home likely for the first time. Though she is very people friendly and dog friendly as well, being an adolescent dog has its challenges. We are starting to work on impulse control and better regulation of her emotions.

Sweet Bailey is adjusting to city living after spending his first few months in a secluded, quiet farm area. It is very different and something he is not used to but he is acclimating well with the help of some positive reinforcement training. Slow and steady.

Cooperative care is not a new concept; however it is gaining more familiarity amongst the dog world over the last decade. I’ve always tried to advocate for animals knowing there was a better way, even if that way took time, dedication, and consistency. I’m very excited to see what the future holds not only for myself as a dog trainer but for the dog community.

If your dog needs help at the groomer or veterinarian, please contact a positive reinforcement professional; including myself. I’m very excited to be diving into the cooperative care world again, only this time with dogs.

Personally, I’ve recently trained my own dog Jackson to accept nightly eye drops. Without cooperative care, this would not have been possible.

Also; please enjoy some other animals opting into training: Remo (South American Sea Lion), Cooper (North American River Otter), and Nicholas (Bottlenose Dolphin).

Dallas and his sibling Logan both enjoyed some training today. We trained with Logan about two years ago and are back again for newly adopted Dallas! He is a rescue and is fearful in certain situations as well as reactive on leash. We are implementing some skills to help. Great job today, Dallas! 🎉🎉

Mr Sad Eyes himself, Watson, had a follow up session today and is a total adolescent right now. In case you were wondering, dogs in their adolescent period are just has fun as humans in their teenager years! 😂

Handsome Andy here is a newly adopted dog, who didn’t experience much in his previous life. For Andy, things in motion are scary and he wants to bark and chase them. We are working on building up his confidence on leash so walks can be more pleasurable for both mom and Andy. Good job today, Andy!

Maverick is just over 4 months and is working on his training skills. Today he started his “go to bed” training cue and did great with it! This helped him build duration of someone being able to go out of sight. Great job, Mav! 👏🏻

The most handsome of Bennys I have yet to meet! Benny is just 10 months and although he loves people and dogs, he has some strong reactive behavior to cars, motorcycles, trucks, etc. We were able to successfully do some engage/disengage training with him today and had multiple cars drive by with zero reactions! Great job, Benny.

Sweet and smart, Maverick, is a whole lot of PUPPY!!!! Can you guess what puppies do? They jump, they nip, they chase, they grab, the have zero body awareness and explore the world with their mouth and paws. This is normal! So what should the humans who don’t like the jumping/nipping/grabbing behaviors do? Redirection, redirection, redirection! Management and enrichment is also necessary for young dogs. So is training - basic skills and reinforcement for calm behavior is a must!

I got to say goodbye to these two, Ziggy and Ghost, as they are soon headed to Chicago for a brand new adventure. These two are super smart, and are still in training but will be working with a new trainer out in Chicago! Great work pups!
