Socializing and playing with other dogs is essential for your dog’s well-being, but it’s not just about letting them loose and hoping for the best. Proper socialization requires understanding canine body language, managing interactions, and teaching valuable skills. Here’s how you can set your dog up for success:

1️⃣ Learn Dog Body Language
• Watch for play signals like play bows, bouncy movements, and relaxed tails.
• Recognize when your dog or others feel overwhelmed: stiff body, tucked tail, lip licking, or excessive avoidance.
• Intervene if play gets too rough or one dog is no longer enjoying it.

2️⃣ Manage Interactions
• Keep play sessions short and positive, especially for younger or shy dogs.
• Use leashes or baby gates for gradual introductions in controlled settings.
• Advocate for your dog by stepping in if another dog is being pushy or too intense.
