Lucy’s Story 💛

Meet Lucy, a brave kitty who came to our Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) team at Fetch Brandon when she wasn’t feeling her best. After a thorough exam and diagnostic testing, our team discovered that Lucy was suffering from DKA (diabetic ketoacidosis) and hepatic lipidosis — two serious conditions that required intensive care and close monitoring.

What made Lucy’s case especially interesting was that she was taking Bexacat, a newer diabetes medication for cats. Because of this, her blood glucose levels were normal, even though she was in DKA — a great reminder that normal numbers don’t always mean everything is okay. 🩺

Thanks to the quick action, advanced diagnostics, and 24/7 care from our ECC team, Lucy received the treatment and support she needed to get back on the road to recovery. 💚

We’re so proud of Lucy and our incredible team for the care and dedication that made her recovery possible!

🐶💖 Meet Chloe! 💖🐶

This silly (and very curious!) puppy found herself in a bit of trouble after ingesting a large dose of meloxicam that was over the safety limit — yikes!

Luckily, our incredible ECC team jumped into action and performed Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE). This procedure helps filter the medication from her blood, giving her major organs — like the liver and kidneys — a chance to rest and recover without being overworked. 🩸✨

We’re thrilled to share that Chloe did great and is back to her playful self! 🙌

A special shoutout to our amazing Hospital Director, Holly, a fearless leader who steps in to support our team when they need it most — teamwork like this is what makes all the difference. 💪💙

🐾 Meet Bailey! 🐾

Bailey came to our Emergency & Critical Care team with a serious condition—a proximal duodenal perforation caused by NSAIDs, which led to a septic abdomen. She underwent life-saving surgery and, post-op, faced very low protein levels that caused swelling (edema) in parts of her body.

As part of her extra-special care, Bailey received daily full-body massages to help alleviate the edema. In this photo, our skilled technician Marina is giving Bailey some much-needed TLC. She was so relaxed and comfortable, turning her recovery into a mini spa experience. 💛

Her resilience and the dedication of our ECC team show the power of compassionate, personalized care when pets need it most.

🐾 Meet B.W.! 🐶💙

This sweet boy came to our ER after his family noticed bloody stools. After spotting some concerning signs, B.W. was hospitalized and later transferred to our Emergency & Critical Care team for further testing.

B.W. was diagnosed with ITP (Immune-Mediated Thrombocytopenia) — a condition where the immune system mistakenly attacks the body’s platelets, which are needed for blood clotting. With his platelet count dropping, B.W. required a blood transfusion to help with his platelet loss.

After almost a week of care with our doctors and nurses, B.W. was strong enough to go home to his loving family. 💕

His amazing pet parents surprised our team with this thoughtful (and delicious!) cookie cake to show their gratitude. 🥰 We feel so fortunate to care for incredible pets like B.W. and to be part of such a kind, supportive community.

✨ Thank you to B.W.’s family, and we’re so happy he’s back where he belongs — home and healing.

This 8,000 sq. ft. facility holds five exam rooms, a full-service ICU, two surgery suites, a chemotherapy suite, a 16-slice helical CT, color flow ultrasonography, video endoscopy/bronchoscopy, digital radiography, and radiation therapy.
