UPDATE ON CHRISTY FROM HER HUSBAND STEVE:
Christy is down for testing at the moment so I wanted to take some time to let everyone know what's happened and where we are.
First though I want to think you all for the love, support, and prayers from everyone. A lot of people have reached out to me with some sweet and sincere words. I apologize for not being able to respond to everyone but I have read every message to Christy and I know that she appreciates and loves you all.
Saturday night without warning Christy collapsed. I found her less than 5 minutes later on the ground. EMTs rushed her to the ER. They determined that she had suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm and had aspirated when she collapsed. Because of this, her lungs were full of fluid and her oxygen levels were dangerously low. Several doctors determined that her body would not survive procedures to deal with the aneurysm. They had to treat her lungs and get her oxygen levels up. I was told this would be a 4 to 5 day process. They decided to put her into medical paralysis due to trying to juggle the levels they needed for so many things.
Due to her strong will and the prayers of so many, she beat they're estimate by a couple of days. Her body, while not healed, is ready to move forward. Neurosurgeons have begun testing and are preparing to move forward with treating the aneurysm.
She has not been conscious since she collapsed so none of us know the extent of the damage, if any, to her brain.
Again, I think you from the bottom of my heart for all the prayers and ask that you all continue to pray for her. These next couple of days will be crucial. We all need my sweet, precious wife (as so many of you like to call her) back.
