Wise words from our friends at Worthless Handler

This was something I was taught early on and one of my most popular stickers and patches I have.

But listening to this week he made some phenomenal points and reminded me that if you’re going to “trust your dog” you have to KNOW your dog and TRUST the training they have been through. They are absolute cheaters and if you allow them they will fool you. Blindly telling someone running a venue to “trust your dog” isn’t helping them. We need to validate what the dog is doing in training so that when we hit the streets and that head snaps we can whole heartedly trust our dogs. But we won’t get there if we aren’t holding them and ourselves, accountable in training.

I love this job and constantly learning from others and will always use this platform to share that. Thank you Mike for the reminder to not be complacent and always pushing for VALUABLE improvement and not just running through the motions.

Maybe I need to add a “Know your dog” sticker into the pack….

Sending our love and condolences to our friends over at after the loss of long time NeroBallSquad, K-9 Vika and her handler Cpl. Dietz. These two kept millions of passengers coming into and out of Tampa safe over her eight years of service as well as provided explosive sweeps during presidential visits, The SuperBowl, and many other important events in the Tampa Bay region.

We thank K-9 Vika for her service and hope her handler and dept find peace and comfort in their hearts. RIP K-9 Vika EOW: June 20, 2023.

Last week I took Fanto out to a construction site to work on some confidence building on construction site obstacles as well as learning to trust each other. At first he was like wtf and then he started to trust me, navigating the obstacles with more confidence and trust. BUT unfortunately later that night I broke my leg in three places while playing with the kids. Thankfully I’ve already had surgery and back home but will be out from training and working with Fanto for about 4 months which I will really miss.

Does anyone else use cooling mats? With this Florida heat already turning up, and it’s not even summer yet, I got this one to try it out. So far Fanto likes it but it doesn’t seem very strong to hold up for long term use. Any recommendations for cooling mats that you love?
