First horse show for Easy Company on the books!! had an absolute blast doing a combined training intro test at Fence Post Farm’s wonderful schooling show. We got to toddle around and take the greenies out, and I got to really start the process of getting my show legs back. Having schooling opportunities like this is invaluable. Those low pressure experiences are the foundation for both horse and rider for future success, and I definitely need it just as much if not more than the horse!!
Couldn’t have been more proud of this boy though, he took it all in stride and barely batted an eyelash at anything. Did we have a nice frame in our test? No. Did we trot the entire cross rails only course? Yes. Did the giant green baby horse handle a screaming actual human baby walking directly behind him for a solid two minutes, a pair of barking chihuahuas he couldn’t see, a surprising tent at the end of the arena, his first warmup ring, his first legit jumps wirh standards (we don’t have those yet lol, only poles and cavaletti), all without blowing up? Yes.🥰

Couldn’t be more grateful for the amazing team that’s developing here at Windmill Equestrian, thank you Joy Rabne for ”tagging along”, aka being incredible ground crew. Truly couldn’t have done it without you.

“Grit your teeth, tight your ass and go!” And have a little fun while you’re doing it.

Windmill Equestrian proudly offers
Louisiana Lightning, aka “Gator”

14.1 hh grade stockhorse pony, rising 6 y/o

This guy has all the makings of a kid’s (or even a smaller kid at heart) unicorn!
He was late started under saddle just in the last few months, and even with inconsistent winter training is going easily w/t/c.
Gator wants nothing more than to please and take care of his rider. Moves beautifully, but has the best woah. I’ve even let my seven year old daughter help start him! He takes anything new with calm curiosity and grace.
At the same time, he’s a sweet natured goofball who loves to play!!
I could see him go almost any direction, though I think his perfect job would be as an A circuit large equitation pony.
He’ll be heading to the show circuit this spring, and continue his training till his person comes along.
He’s offered currently priced mid x,###, But will increase with training

*SOLD*
Persephone
12 yr old 15.1 hh gray Percheron cross mare
Brandywine, MD

Offered for consideration

Persephone is as pretty as they come, and built short and stocky the way everyone wants!
Bought at auction for a commercial carriage business, she’s just not quite the right fit for the program. Sadly, someone has been rough with her at some point, and strange people walking up to her can still be a little scary. But with even a tiny bit of work she’s come a very long way!! Now she is often the first to greet us in the pasture. Unfortunately, wedding season is upon us, there isn’t enough time to get her trained to where she needs to be, and we need to make space. Our loss, your gain!!

Broke to drive, started under saddle: direct reins and already learning to respond to leg aid, can be ridden w/t. Will canter when asked on lunge. Soft mouthed, with a trot as smooth as butter, in the right hands this horse could easily be one you throw your grandma on. Very much wants to please, and doesnt have a mean bone in her body. Videos are from her second time under saddle. We could see her excelling as a second or third flight fox hunter, or even a lower level dressage horse. Does want to have a bit of a motor but has not once offered to buck, rear or even kick.
Don’t let the videos fool you, she is stout!! Rider is 5’10”.

This is the project horse everyone is looking for. Get her now and train her to make a tidy profit or make her into your next drafty sporthorse. Carrots in the mid 4s, will increase with training.

Had a really good day working ponies with Molly, and we finished with some good bodywork for the horses. Miss Moneypenny seemed to enjoy getting her loin and shoulders released in particular.
