CALYPSO is a cute 2-year-old Bulldog mix who is looking for her new home! She loves to get pets from people and enjoys sniffing (and snorting) as she explores our fenced in dog run. She is a striking girl who would love a new home soon.

Hello, I am W***y Wonka!

I am a 2-year-old neutered male Pit Bull Mix. I was found as a stray and I am new to the shelter. They named me W***y Wonka. Perhaps it’s because I have a beautiful chocolate reddish coat or maybe because I am so sweet. WAIT...SWEET. YUP! THAT'S PROBABLY IT! 😃

As you can imagine, I am still a little nervous but the staff and volunteers are working with me on my leash walking and basic commands. So far, I love treats and being petted. 😊 I tested well with other dogs and should be okay with respectful children.

My dream is to find a a loving forever home. ❤ And if you can help me, I'd really appreciate it! 😃

This sweet girl was found tied to the fence of our shelter early this morning with a black leash attached to a makeshift collar that she could slip out of.
If anyone has any information on this sweet girl please call the shelter any day between 8am and 3pm please leave all voicemails in the general box.

Meet Blaze … Blazes story sure is a sad one !

Blaze is less then 2 years old and unfortunately he has been bounced around quite a few times . His first owner thought he and his brother were gonna go to a good home but then that didn’t work out . That person put him up on Craigslist and gave him and his brother to a third person . The third person put him and his brother in a crate in their garage and tried flipping them . What is dog flipping you ask? It is when someone gets dogs for free and then tries to sell them. They are never meant to be kept as pets , they are meant to be kept as items for sale.

Someone stepped in and helped us to save Blaze and his brother . Blazes brother found a home right away but Blaze was a bit more skittish . Then to Blaze s good fortune - he fell in love with a volunteer and she and her husband adopted him .

Unfortunately they’ve just divorced and the husband kept the house but Blaze had to go. So he is back with us and devastated. Blaze loves dogs and is good with cats . He prefers woman over men but he adjusts to guys over time . Because Blaze is shy , he would probably prefer children 16 years and older .

Blaze is a 2 year old German Shepherd/husky mix . He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting please fill out an application at www.Branfordanimalshelter.org

From a client this morning...

Thank you, thank you, thank you for telling me you thought Lucy had lost some weight.

We took her to the vet on Saturday who confirmed a 1 lb weight loss. He did some labs and suspects pancreatitis. We will know more after she has an ultrasound next week.

I'm not yet sure what the treatment will be but we are out in front of it thanks to your "eagle eye". The vet said, "Kudos to your eagle eye caregiver! She is spot on!"
