Luna came in dressed to the nines for her spay last week, all prepared for the chilly winter we’ve been having! ❄️❄️ Luna is a 7 month old Labrador Retriever and she couldn’t help but give kisses and cuddles to our technician Rachel during her pre surgical exam.🧡💙

‼️We are currently having an issue with smelling gas at the hospital. The issue is currently being addressed. Our chihuahua whisperer Caitlyn, one of our assistants with Rascal! Rascal was here to have his liver enzymes rechecked. He has been on a daily liver supplement due to a slight elevation in one of his levels. So far he has been doing well and the values have been normalizing. Paws crossed Rascal’s values continue to stay normal!🐾🩸🐶

Donnie was quite the ladies man when he was here for his neuter last week! Our technician Skylar (left) and assistant Liz (right) could not let him leave without a quick photo shoot! Donnie is a 5 month old Pug who never minds a visit with us as long as snuggles are involved!🐾❤️

From under the microscope 🔬These small movements you see on the slide are microfilaria, which are the larva form of canine heartworms. Dogs get heartworm from mosquitoes and since we can't prevent mosquitoes from biting them we recommend using preventatives year round. Treatment is difficult on the patient and very costly, so remember to test your dog annually for the disease and give your dog his or her heartworm prevention once a month. ❤🐾 #branfordveterinaryhospital #microfilaria #heartwormdisease #vettechlife #weloveourpatients
