We know a lot of our clients take their kiddos to or live around lakes and wilderness. Did you know your pet could pick up this nasty infection?! Make sure to add this vaccine to your kiddos core vaccines each year to help keep them and you protected! Lacie is happy to answer questions on this infection if you have any also!

Spring is here! And with that comes a warning about Leptospirosis, a disease caused by infection with Leptospira bacteria.

All dogs are at risk of leptospirosis, regardless of age, breed, lifestyle, geographic location, time of year, and other factors. The following situations can increase that risk:

➡Exposure to or drinking from slow-moving or stagnant water sources, like ponds, rivers, lakes, or streams
➡ Roaming on rural properties (because of exposure to potentially infected wildlife or farm animals or urine-contaminated water sources)
➡ Exposure to wild animals (especially rodents) or farm animals, even if in the backyard
➡ Contact with other dogs (such as in urban areas, dog parks, or boarding or training facilities)

Annie here could play fetch for hours! Sometimes when we’re sitting for her when her parents are gone we throw in a mid day visit to make sure she’s getting enough time to burn off some energy. 🐾

Another newbie alert!! Juniper and Basil are just the cutest!! These girls got to hang out with Crista overnight and Rachel during the day. Basil needed shorter walks due to her age, but her sister Juniper made sure to get her longer ones in. They both insisted on supervising from the couch while Crista made her coffee in the mornings and then they spent the rest of their mornings protecting the house from the squirrels on their patio.
The ladies thoroughly enjoyed caring for these girls and can’t wait until the next time so they can get more snuggles in! 🐾

This weekend Lacie had the pleasure to take on a new crew for drop ins and an overnight.
Hope the Pyrenees is 14 years young and has trouble getting around like she used to. Stella is a rambunctious poodle that has some behavioral quirks that her new adoptive mom is working through.
Finding someone you trust to not only stay in your home, but to also care for these special needs can be a challenge. We’re so glad their Mama chose us to come care for this crew!
Lacie has worked in the veterinary world for 15 years and her crew is hand selected for their experience with various critters. We hope to continue growing our client base to more families and their beloved critters this year!

Harley needs a home!

Just a reminder that our Queen of the Adoption Floor (and longest adoption floor resident) is still looking for her forever home!

Harley is confident, happy and curious. You would never guess that when she came into the shelter, she was terrified. She had to be carried from her kennel, and it took weeks to get her to feel comfortable going on a walk. She has blossomed into an absolutely amazing girl, who is just waiting for someone to see her worth and give her a chance.

At around 28lbs, this small girl won't take up much space! She is great on a leash, good with kids and seems to be fine with other dogs.

Since Harley is Queen of the Adoption Floor, her adoption fee is sponsored!

Does leaving your fur kid make you anxious?!?! These girls’ momma used to get a lot of anxiety when leaving town, but through home visits with our sitters and plenty of updates while she’s away, we are confident that we have eased her mind for traveling.
Dolly was a recent rescue and had a lot of anxiety issues herself when left alone. We have worked with her vet for special medications and our sitters have worked out special timing on visits so this baby is much more relaxed when her parents leave town. She doesn’t even have to have her medications every time anymore!
Dypsy and Dolly are a couple of our regulars and we just adore them!! These girls take snuggling very seriously and we’re so glad that we can accommodate them and all their sweetness!
