Happy World Lion Day!🦁
Today is a day to celebrate the kings and queens of the wild! Reina(pictured below) is the queen bee of our big cats.
Some fun facts about these amazing animals are:
1. A lion's roar can be heard from up to 5 miles away!
2. Male lions are known for their impressive manes, which serve as a sign of dominance and strength. The darker and fuller the mane, the more attractive the male is to females.
3. Lions are known for their relaxed lifestyle, spending up to 20 hours a day resting or sleeping.

Happy International Tiger Day! 🐅
Today is a day to celebrate and raise awareness for some of the most majestic creatures on Earth! Some fun facts about tigers:
1. Just like human fingerprints, no two tigers have the same stripe pattern. These unique markings help them camouflage in the wild.
2. Unlike most cats, tigers love water and are great swimmers. They often cool off in streams and lakes and can swim for miles.
3. A tiger’s roar can be heard up to 2 miles away. They use their powerful vocalizations to communicate with each other over long distances.

What do we do with some boring white space? We had a local artist, who did our beautiful butterfly, come and paint a Luna moth! We've had a couple Luna moths hanging around outside that inspired this decision, one even decided to hang out on the butterfly. Isn't it absolutely gorgeous?

In case one fascinating pair wasn't enough, we also get to celebrate National Gator Day! 🐊 Crooked Jaw and Stubbs are our American Alligators. While this pair isn't furry like our otters, they still know how to draw in a crowd with how massive they are! Alligators have been on our planet for millions of years and play a huge role in the ecosystem. We are happy to provide an opportunity to view these incredible beings, especially when they are not native everywhere!

It is National Otter Day! 🦦 Today we celebrate these playful and adorable creatures that bring so much joy to our world. Otters are known for their intelligence, social nature, and of course, their incredible swimming skills. While there are 13 species of otters in the world, the Asian Small-Clawed Otters hold a big spot in our hearts as that is what Gatsby and Lylla are. At Branson's Wild World, you have a chance to interact with our otters by feeding them and learning about them from our staff members, so any day could be otter day for you!
