A local customer asked me to craft a birdhouse for the Western Bluebird using one of the gourds I grew—and this morning, a Western Bluebird stopped by my back porch to check it out! 🏠💙
While this birdhouse is headed to its new home with the customer, it’s amazing to see nature already giving it a stamp of approval. Moments like this make projects like these so rewarding. 🌱

🌿 From Seed to Shelter: Nature’s Harmony in Action 🌿
This spring, we planted birdhouse gourds that grew over a chicken coop and rabbit hutch, providing much-needed shade during the summer heat. Each vine gives us 4-6 bottle-shaped gourds, which dry on the vine for months before becoming something magical—birdhouses!
Watching these native bluebirds explore the birdhouse I made fills me with such joy. Not only do they find a safe place to nest, but they also help control insect populations around our farm, creating a perfect balance in nature.
Moments like this remind me of the beauty and healing found in simple, intentional connections with the natural world. 🌎💚
