Good morning! We have received word that Marshall County Health Department has deemed pet grooming as essential. I will open April 8th. As always I will be taking clients by appointment only. Per the health department you may not enter the building. I will meet you outside with my own lead. Please remove collars and leashes. If you have not been feeling well please cancel and we can reschedule. Since I work alone I am having to schedule a little differently than I have in the past. If my schedule does not line up with yours I will be happy to recommend another groomer in our area that may have more groomers on hand. Thank you so much for your patience 💚

IT'S NOT OUR FAULT YOU NEGLECTED YOUR DOG FOR MONTHS, KAREN!!!!!!!!!

If these people stayed on a regular grooming schedule, every 4-8 weeks AND maintained their pets at home with daily brushing and combing, they wouldn't be in this condition.

A dog can survive it's ENTIRE LIFE without ever going to a professional groomer. If it's maintained with brushing and combing at home

Us being closed for a few weeks is not the cause of your dog's condition.

Brush and comb your dog. And stop slicing our mats with scissors!!!!!!!!

If your local groomers are closed and your dog is matted, call your local vet hospitals and see if they can shave your dog. Enjoy that bill. It's still cheaper than it you maintained a regular grooming schedule. 🙃

I really like this infographic, it's a great reminder that smells can give us information on our animals. Sometimes there is a much bigger problem than just needing a bath. If you notice a strange smell that doesn't go away after bathing make sure to get your pet to the vet!!

Since I am a small home based business I am by appointment only. I always have been. When I had my new sign made I made a point to include that. I just had a woman show up claiming she spoke with me and I told her she didn't need an appointment and she could just show up for a nail trim. Now I do believe that she must have called another groom shop but I never spoke with this woman. Some days, like today I'm not even working. If anybody else is curious I will always be by appointment only. I try to keep a calm environment for the dogs that I am grooming and this helps ensure that. Thank you all for understanding! I really do have the best clients 😘 Have a Happy Easter! 🐰

“What do you mean, ‘he’s matted’!?” A mat is a tangle gone wrong, a single upstart of a hair that wrapped itself around a neighbor, who in turn grabbed another and another. For curly and drop-coated breeds (bichons, malteses, poodles, shin tzus, lhasas, cockers), shedding hairs die and instead of falling onto your favorite sweater, they are caught by neighboring hairs. These hairs will rarely dislodge themselves, and require the assistance of a brush AND comb to remove them. If left to their own devices, mats will spread, forming a network, then a solid mass of dead hair that can eventually cover the entire body.
When a pet’s coat has formed a solid mass, shaving is the only humane option. A blade must be safely wedged UNDER the matting, against the skin, and when the coat is solid, there is no way to save some of it. Even when the pet is not yet solid all over but has many solid areas (chest, collar area, belly, hips, legs, tail, ears), for the sake of an even coat, it is best to just start over and let it all grow back the same length.

Good morning! Friday January 26th I received a voice mail from a man. I can't understand anything other than he lives down the road and works evenings. My caller ID didn't catch the number either. It sounded like he said his name was John Hatfield but I'm not completely sure. Anyone out there looking to get ahold of me? I hate not returning calls.
