We would Like to thank Christian Shipley for allowing Wenda to take his amazing stallion Smoken French Winner as her back up horse to the NFR. She test drove him this past weekend at the stockyards and won on Friday with a 13.7 and then smoked a 13.5 run Saturday even with a trip going into and looping the 2nd! It’s a great match up and we are very thankful!

Lessons I learned working with horses:

- you’re on their time
-pay attention to detail
- everyone has an opinion
- it’s okay to not know everything
- spend time building trust
- sometimes, it’s about the view
- remember to give praise
- less is more, until it’s not
-If you control the feet, you control the power
- you’re only as good as your equipment
- clear communication is key
- 1% is still effort
- create a partner, not a problem
- allow them to act like a horse

Horsemanship is a skill we practice everyday, but it’s not a 1 size Fits all. Just like people, we have different personalities and attitudes. This means we will learn something from each horse we encounter☺️

Interested in our Horsemanship elevation classes? They will resume as soon as the heat goes under 100! Our next week being Saturday the 29th! We teach the principles of +P and +R! The course will help with building a stronger bond between horse and rider, teach you how to control your horses feet, and how to gauge timing. You are encouraged to bring your own horse, however that is optional! Things we cover are:
-Softness in the mouth and body. -Release, what that looks like, how to help your horse find it.
-Loading into a trailer.
-Ground manners and understanding the problem.
-Body Control and how to isolate movements.

Our GOAL is to educate and elevate! We hope to see you there!
