We want to take a moment to shout our Dr Scott Gregorich. He’s the face of radiology behind all of our ultrasounds. Dr. Gregorich earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota and subsequently completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at BluePearl Veterinary Partners, Tampa, FL, followed by a diagnostic imaging residency at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. He treats every patient with care and is extremely thorough. We appreciate you Dr Gregorich and thank you for caring for our patients so well!

We’ve been having LOTS of discussions in the hospital regarding care during fireworks season. With 4th of July coming up, we’d like to share some helpful tips and tricks to help calm some of furry friends during the fireworks.

🎆 Walk your dog during daylight hours to avoid times when fireworks are likely to be set off.

🎆Move your dog to their safe space each evening before the fireworks begin. Provide toys and other things that they enjoy in their safe space.

🎆Close windows and curtains to muffle the sound of fireworks. Blackout your pet’s safe space so they can't see any flashes outside.

🎆Put on some music or TV to mask the firework sounds.

If you think your pet might need some additional medication to help get them through the fireworks, please call our hospital team to get what you need or establish an exam for care prior to 4th of July.

We’ve had a good weekend of boarding and daycare but have exercised a lot of caution with the heat index and humidity as high as it has been. This week continues to stay super high, so we will continue to tone to shorten sessions as needed, pull out our smudgy faced friends early and make sure everyone has plenty of inside time with all the water. Be safe!!! Murphy has enjoyed his sprinkler this weekend as you can see 🥰

Happy 14th birthday to one of our best and sweetest patients, Louie!!!! Louie was a participant in the Librela trial and he is feeling great! Librela is a once monthly injection that helps with pain management. Louie has osteoarthritis and Librela paired with laser therapy has helped his mobility in his golden years. Way to go Louie! We hope you enjoyed your cheese cake ♥️🐾🎂

We got to meet Mita today and to say we’re obsessed is an understatement 😍 She presented to get updated on her boosters, discuss a spay and to show off her obvious cuteness ♥️ We can’t wait to watch this cool cat grow!

Today, the water is mandatory! Everyone please pay close attention to these temps the next week or so. Lots of water, limited outdoor time for seniors, dogs that avoid the water, smushy faces, etc.

The next several days are gonna be H-O-T! We will have ALL THE WATER, keeping a close eye on everyone and shortening daycare sessions as needed to make sure everyone stays safe and healthy. Keep an eye on the temps and never feel silly for being cautious or worried, we will be doing the same!

Sweet girl Freya presented earlier this month for her annual, and Uh Oh! We found a fractured tooth 🦷 Upon further investigation it was noted that the tooth was causing Miss Freya some discomfort, so it was time to come out!

The top picture shows what we saw when we evaluated the tooth. Peep the hole at the bottom of the tooth. That is root exposure! The second picture is to show how much gingival recession happened below the gum line. The third picture is to show closure of the extraction site.

It’s so important to do a thorough evaluation every time you go to the vet! Dad reports she’s been doing great! Also, we had to feature this gorgeous lady. When your dad is a professional photographer, you get extra pretty pics! Way to go Freya!
