Anyone who has met Alberto knows he has a way with animals. Considering that as a child, he was traumatized by dogs, his unique ability to connect with our canine patients now is even more remarkable.

Over the past several years, alongside his wife, Dr. Glassman, Alberto has grown and developed an exceptional program at Roosevelt Mansion where pets are happy and cared for, pet owners are relieved, and his team of Kennel Assistants learn and grow each day from his leadership.

Dawn Farbman, Practice Manager, is such a key part of the Roosevelt Vet Center practice. Here she is with her Macallan!

Dawn joined Roosevelt Veterinary Center in 2021 as the Office Manager. Previously Dawn was a bookkeeper/ biller at a local car dealership and a Zumba instructor. She is happily married to her husband of 15 years, has three beautiful children, a cat named Rain, and a handsome Cane Corso, Macallan.

In her spare time, Dawn loves taking pictures of her children in their various sports, reading, baking, shopping (of course), dancing, and finding new spots to walk with Macallan.

And let's re-introduce Dr. Abdul Hai, DVM, who many of you know and love already!

Dr. Abdul Hai earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2021 from the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore. Excelling as one of the top students, he quickly initiated the licensure process to practice in the USA.

Initially, he relocated to Lexington, Kentucky, the Horse Capital of the World, in 2022, to work with polo horses. There, he contributed to one of the world’s foremost equine hospitals before transitioning to small animal practice at Roosevelt Veterinary Center.

Dr. Hai values his empathic colleagues as well as the high-quality medicine and mentorship from Dr. Allison Glassman.

We were thrilled to welcome Dr. Hai to the practice in 2024! He has quickly become a family member and valued asset to the practice.

Meet the exceptional veterinarian Dr. Maria Lagana, DVM, of Roosevelt Veterinary Center.

Dr. Maria Lagana was raised in Westchester County in an animal-loving family. She spent her youth motivated by a desire to assist animals in need. Horses were and continue to be her passion. She earned her undergraduate and DVM degrees from Cornell University, where she was a leader in animal welfare organizations. She also worked in the field of epidemiology while pursuing her studies.

Dr. Lagana began her career after graduation at South Salem Animal Hospital. She eventually opened her animal hospital in Westchester County, where she enjoyed years of success. Dr. Lagana returned to the area after selling her practice and is delighted to be working with us now. She believes in treating all animals as if they were her own.

(I have inside knowledge from a family member that Dr. Lagana is a an incredibly talented, compassionate, and empathic veterinarian. She took such good care of Molly at the end.)

Let's start with the boss: Meet Dr. Allison Glassman, Principal and Founder of Roosevelt Veterinary Center.

Dr. Allison Glassman grew up in the Hudson Valley and graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. After working in New York City, she went to veterinary school and graduated from Ross University’s School of Veterinary Medicine.

In her words: I am so proud to say that in October 2023, Roosevelt Vet Center entered our 18th year! Hard to believe it has been that long. Some of our clients have been with us from the very beginning, while most have come on board through the years. We are continually expanding our services to better meet the needs of our community. New doctors and technicians have joined us which has helped create a more robust and thorough medical team.

Our Dog Daycare and Boarding facility, Roosevelt Mansion, is thriving under the direction of my husband, Alberto. Roosevelt Mansion grows every week with more pups coming to play.

I am so proud of our team for creating and maintaining a place where pet parents and their four-legged loved ones feel safe, listened to, and appreciated. Above all else, they are kept happy and healthy.

Handle communication duties such as scheduling appointments, returning client phone calls and emails, updating patient records through PULSE , and responding to clients through our WEAVE app.
Administer medication prescribed by veterinarians and fill prescriptions for clients
Sterilize equipment and clean examination tables and rooms
Restrain animals during examinations or vaccinations, small and large breeds
Observe animal behavior or health condition and report to the doctor
Assist in any emergencies
Skills
Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant
Excellent customer service skills

Blanche and Stella, along with their 6 siblings and momma, were found on the side of a highway in North Carolina. The couple's nephew canceled his flight, rented a car, and drove back to NY, where he had all the dogs vetted and is now adopting these gorgeous puppies to loving homes. Thank you for saving their lives!
