Lola is out of surgery! She had 15 hair ties inside of her. Luckily, the doctor said that all of her intestines looked very healthy and there did not need to be any resection of her bowel. She did well under anesthesia and now we are hoping for a nice recovery. I just want to extend my gratitude to everyone who donated and shared. The owner is extremely thankful for all of you as well. Last night looked like a very grim prognosis and because of all of you we were able to save this cats life today and that is why I am in this field. I appreciate every single one of you so much and I will keep you all updated on how she does postop!!

This cat came into the office where I work today. The cat had a history of eating a hair tie. Upon x-rays we found a massive foreign body. The owner does not have the funds to save her cats life. The cat is only a year old and she needs this surgery as soon as possible to save her life. This is not a surgery that we  perform at our office and it needs to be done by a specialty hospital.  we have helped several other animals like her before. It takes a village sometimes. Please keep in mind that most of us would never be able to afford something like this on an emergency basis. Please donate and share.

One of my favorite cats to pet sit passed away a few months back. His mom had a necklace made for me with his ashes inside. This is so special to me. He was the cat with 9 lives. I wish he had 100.❤️

I would like to say how thankful I am to Noah’s Ark in Manasquan. I brought Boris and Natasha for cremation this morning and I already have them back. Ellie showed so much compassion and handled them with such great care. This is not the first time that I have used this crematory. They also have a separate building for funerals for humans as well. She also told me that they sometimes hire service dogs for people’s funerals as well which i think is absolutely incredible. The owners are huge animal lovers and you can really tell that they do this work from their heart. I highly recommend them if anyone is looking for a pet crematory. You will have your animal’s ashes back the same day.

Tonight was one of the hardest days I have ever had. I started my business many years ago while working at a local animal hospital. I never dreamed that I would gain the amount of clients that I have over the years. I remember my first client. Her name was Ellen. She was the first person who gave me the keys to her house and trusted me, even before I had my insurance and bonding. We got to know each other well for many years. We shared times that were good and shared times that were bad. I watched her 2 cats grow old and I also watched her too. Today I was present for losing all three of them. For the last month I have been taking care of her cats and also helping take care of her more recently while she has been on hospice. I consider my all of my clients my family and it was such a great honor to be there for all three of them today. She wasn’t just my client, she was also my friend.

I want to apologize and thank everyone for their patience this last month with me returning calls and having scheduling issues. It was so very important that I was there for a friend in need.

I also want to thank Dr. David Weiss from Furry Friends Mobile Vet For helping me with such a hard day, showing so much compassion, and helping the transition for the cats go as smoothly as possible.

With Natasha this morning giving her biweekly subcutaneous fluids to manage her renal failue at home. I have been doing fluids on her at home for two years!! I cannot stress enough what a huge quality of life changer giving these fluids at home is! Her BUN and creatinine levels were through the roof when we started two years ago. She has managed on fluids twice weekly and a special renal diet at home. If you have an animal in renal failure and are interested in having fluids done at home under the supervision of your veterinarian, please reach out to me. Also, I cannot stress enough how very important it is to check senior blood work on all of our senior animals over seven yearly. Your animal may not be acting sick but usually by the time they are, it’s too late. We can catch so many early issues with baseline bloodwork. If you have a senior pet, ask your veterinarian when the last time they had full bloodwork was. It could save your pet’s life.

PUPDATE: Melon has been found alive and well! I can’t thank my clients and everyone else enough for their tremendous efforts in searching for my friend’s dog! She is back home with her family! I posted an updated picture in the comments. Have a wonderful night and keep your fur babies close!!!

Stunningly handsome Cornelius is ready for his new home! Don't let his serious pose fool you! Cornelius comes when called, cuddles with you, needs to be in the mix at all times and walks around purring! He will sleep at your feet at night and sit next to you while you work. He is the most loving, social, friendly cat! Super funny, cuts in line at the breakfast bar, gets along great with other kitties but he does like to steal the show, he does crave attention! He's used to the family chihuahua and is unfazed by just about anything, he is the perfect cat! And did I mention that he's just gorgeous! His fur is pure white except for the little toupee' on his head and striped tail!

Today I went to work and got to meet Bella. She presented for not eating, losing weight drastically, vomiting, and not having bowel movements. The owner has now exhausted all of their funds on Diagnostics to find out their dog needs a $2000 to $4000 foreign body surgery. She is only 3 years old!!! I found a doctor who is willing to take this pup in right away and get surgery started. The veterinarian doing the surgery is going to be Dr. Fenwick at Jersey Shore Veterinary emergency service in Lakewood, NJ. These owners have been excellent pet owners over the years and have fallen on hard times during Covid. This dog is so very well loved. Sometimes it takes a village. Please donate to her surgery as soon as possible so that we can get her the proper care she needs. She is critical right now.
