🔔NOTICE FOR PARKING ON 8/23/2024🔔
We are very excited for our parking lot to be paved tomorrow, with that comes some inconvenience. I have attached some photos to help explain how to pull in and where to park tomorrow (8/23/2024). We have put up small white flags to block off where our septic draining field is, please DO NOT park in that area.
📣To decrease the amount of vehicles, we ask that anyone picking up medications, food or preventatives to please pick them up today or Monday.
📣 If you and your pet have an appointment on Friday (8/23/2024) then please follow the parking instructions and call the animal hospital once you are parked so we can help guide you into the building.
For any additional questions please call the animal hospital, we do not respond to Facebook Messages.
Thank you all for understanding! No more muddy footprints in your cars after rainy appointments!!!

We said goodbye to Jen’s very loyal companion and a coworker to all of us, Jack. In Jack’s younger days he made his presence known at work, he loved to bark at the right time to scare people walking by his kennel, he expected a treat if he walked by you and don’t even think about saying “I’ma get your butt” to him without him spinning around to get you first. Jack was able to retire for a short time in 2020 due to the pandemic, but then came out of retirement in 2022. We all loved seeing Jack everyday, joking with him and Jen but now we are mourning with her. Jen was an amazing mother to Jack and the sole reason he lived a wonderful 16+ years. Rest in peace, Jack

It has been a crazy week but we still found time to celebrate our wonderful Veterinary Assistants today with a yummy lunch! These ladies play a vital role in our hospital and I am sure you all are familiar with them since they’re likely the faces you see when you come in for your tech visits or doctor appointments. They are not only a helping hand to Dr. Metzner but also a comforting friend to you and your pets. We are so fortunate to have such skilled, compassionate and loving assistants.
Thank you Jen, Holly, Lauren and Haley!!!

Happy July 4th week! It is hard to believe it’s already here.
We hope everyone has plans to relax and enjoy family this week. Our hours will be slightly different this week to allow our team time to enjoy the holiday as well.
Monday-Wednesday 9am-6pm
Thursday the 4th- CLOSED
Friday 9am-5pm
Fireworks will likely happen all week and into the weekend so please be prepared with your fearful animals. Make sure medications are filled, music is on in the house and they are put in a safe area where they can not harm themselves.

Happy New Year!!!
2023 has been a great year, thanks to our amazing clients, patients and staff.
We’ve lost some very special patients this year and also had the pleasure of watching families welcome new furry members to their homes.

As our last week of celebrating our support staff for the year comes to an end we would like to thank our team for their dedication and hard work that they bring through the doors everyday! We hope you all were able to get to know our staff a little better through celebrating Veterinary Receptionists Week, Veterinary Assistant Week and Veterinary Technician Week this year.
Also, thank you to all of our amazing clients that share their beloved pets with us. We obviously could not do it without your support and trust and have enjoyed the kind words you said about our team!

Happy Veterinary Technician Week to Sam! I know what you all are thinking… who is she?! 🤣 Sam has been with WSAH since completing her internship 8 years ago, she is usually the one calling you back about your pets bloodwork result. However, she’s still out on maternity leave so her sightings have been scarce! What she loves most about her career is advocating for the most reasonable care for patients. When she’s not at the hospital she is usually chasing her two kids and dogs around on her farm and trying to sneak in as many rides on her horses as possible.

Happy Veterinary Technician Week to Emily!! Emily has been with WSAH since completing her internship 10 years ago. She says her favorite part about her career is making a difference in someone life by helping their animals and her fun work family…. I think we all know she’s here for the kitties! haha When Emily gets time out of the hospital she is usually baking/cooking, cuddling with her cats and a book or walking Thistle and playing with her niece.

Happy Veterinary Technician Week to Tara! Tara has been an LVT for close to 12 years and been with WSAH for almost 11. Her favorite part of her job is helping nurse sick patients back to health and watching them leave looking and feeling better then they came in. She also loves getting to spend the day with her crazy, loving work family. When Tara is not at WSAH she is with her own family, her two daughters and husband and their three beautiful German Shepherds.

Happy Veterinary Assistant Week to Lauren! Saving the best for last 🤪! Lauren started with us straight out of high school, her work ethic, drive and compassion for animals was evident a such a young age. When she’s not here with us she is chasing her two human kids or 4 furry kids and hanging out with her husband.

In true Holly form, she was late getting her photos in 🤣 we love her anyway! Holly is known for her big heart, filling everyone’s belly’s with junk food and always lending a helping hand. When she’s not at work she is busy keeping up with her two sons and loving on her furry babies.

Happy Veterinarian Assistant Week to the glue that holds our hospital together and everyone’s “work mom”! Jen is the most experienced assistant at WSAH, she’s known for her welcoming and comforting hugs, a good laugh and most importantly her love for animals! Jen utilizes her time off to the fulliest with keeping up with her two daughters and all of her family and friends.

It’s hard to believe July 4th weekend is already here!
In addition to the reminders in the photo about fireworks, please also remember to not share your cookout with your furry family! Pork, burgers, hotdogs and more can cause GI upset and leave your pet feeling uncomfortable this weekend.
Another reminder, we are closed on weekends, will be open at 8am on Monday(7/3) and closed on Tuesday(7/4).

Dr. Craig Metzner and all of the other wonderful veterinarians, today is for you! Recognizing all of the hard work and time you put into your patients. For the little bit of time Dr. Metzner is not at WSAH he can be found camping with his family, sitting by a bonfire or grilling.
