Dog Sledding and Kayaking Wintermoon Summersun is an environmentally friendly dog sledding and sea kayaking retreat lodge.

We have a beautiful and peaceful 400 acre Finnish homestead located 50 miles north of Duluth, Minnesota in the Superior National Forest.

Working with a friendly sled dog kennel at an eco-sustainable lodge. Also trail and homestead chores. Need a love of dogs and people, outdoors, fall/winter weather, living off-grid, must be mature, fit, be able to work independently. this position starts around October/November until the end of March, includes room/board/stipend.

Meet my friend Snow, she is clinging for dear life to rocks, to the earth. I watched the news and have told her that over 26 hurricanes have struck this year, that twice this week Lubbock TX was colder than Duluth MN, and that CA is the hottest and burning.... and that I am worried. As a winter business we depend on Snow and we need a leader who gets the connection between climate change and the economy. Snow asks can you people live without a healthy earth for water, food, shelter, how much do all these disasters cost, what can you do? I tell her that I will do what I can on Nov 3 and I will implore others to have the insight and courage to do the same.

The Wintermoon Husky Summer Games & Competition Awards Ceremony was held Sunday at the Tahti Tiki Bar and judges Anca, Renee & Bobbi felt the skill & ability level this year reached amazing new heights! For their incredible accomplishments, a toast to the winners and the judges.
Best Tiki Bar - Tahti, best zen yoga tail pose - a tie: Finn & Tulugak, best state of mindfulness - Lemmikki, best creative kong - Urho, best use of nature in space design - Susi, best storm shelter design - Amaroq, best high 5 greetings - Sitka, best "sit" - Foxy & best downward dog - Sven. And that's what huskies do in the summer. Happy Fall !

Heart in the Earth '19 - Our highlight was the visit to Sigurd's Listening Point, a pilgimage filling us with inspiration & our wonderful connection with nature. A great group sharing kayaking, canoeing with Dawn, herbal remedy workshop with Pam, making kombucha with Renee, sun salutation with Julia, husky "walking" with Nevia, gardens, labyrinth, campfires & more. Thanks Katie, Carly, Lydia, Audrey, Sarah & all for the fun.

The huskies in the pen- Sulu, Emma T and Oh-too - we love those dogs and they all went romping this morning along with Qimmiq. And for those of you who know Sulu, we have gotten him so he will go on walks around the yard and Emma T loves being loose! And they all love Julia and Nevia. Thanks also to Jackie who finished up for the summer earlier this week.

It's Sven, Olga, Akiak, Nana and Boozoo's third month birthday and they went for a long walk on the Inuit and Dogwood trails. They're doing great and love playing together.
