📊 BY THE NUMBERS - OCTOBER 📈

I won't even try to dress it up and put a bow on it. We are tired. We are stretched too thin. We want our lives back. So why? Why do we continue? Because if not us, then who?

🐾 Celebrated 2 adoptions. Without a doubt our lowest this year. But that's 2 cats that woke one day with no home and went to sleep with one. So definitely a win. That also included our sweet boy Ollie that waited 638 days to find his family.
🐾 Welcomed 5 new cats in need into foster. Although we have been more than double our planned capacity since July, these 5 cats were urgently in need AND we had 3 new community members step in to foster for us.

Thanks to beautiful partnerships with WCJC Animal Shelter - Judy and Doug Lowrie Spay Neuter Clinic and Operation: Johnson Kitty we:
😮 Helped 13 cats to happier, healthier lives with speuter surgery
😮 7 males that can father an unlimited number of kittens in a year never got the chance to
😮 6 females that won't produce an average of 96 - 144 kittens in the next year

👽 We also welcomed everyone's favorite alien baby, GRITS! If you haven't seen him yet, there are several reels on R U Kitten Me. Grits has congenital glaucoma and will likely need a double enucleation. While we hate he has to go through surgery, thanks to their other fine tuned senses & the ability to adapt, they live happy & healthy lives without vision. To read more about feline glaucoma:

🫟 96 cats in our foster program with 9 of those cats pre-adopted
🫟 Average number of days in foster 165 days (even with longtimer, Ollie, down one day from September)

DRR friends, could you please do us one teeny, tiny, itsy bitsy lil favor. It's small. I mean really small. Fix your eyes on that little clicky spot that says "Share" then "Share now". That's it. Just 2 clicks. Maybe 5 seconds of work. Isn't Clover worth 5 seconds?

🫶 HOW LONG MUST SHE WAIT ⁉️

Pretty Clover has waited patiently at Boops & Beans Cat Cafe while 60 - 70 other cats have found their families. But please don't feel sad for her. It just means the perfect family or person hasn't found her yet.

This post is about YOU helping CLOVER get some exposure. I need friends that will share her post every day. I wanna flood Facebook with CLOVER ALL OVER until B&B shares with us that her people have arrived for her.

Here's a few deets about Clover:
🍀 Loves people, taller people as in 12 or older
🍀 Not a cat person
🍀 Comes with aftermarket modifications, she's a three wheeler
🍀 Avid bird catcher - no birds harmed, all bird "catching" is done by TV
🍀 The Roadrunner has nothing on her...she's fast
🍀 Six years young

🏠 OOPSIE! 🐈‍⬛️

We are just a little overbooked and could really use a foster family that could house 2 sweet kittens for a bit. They don't ask much, just food and a clean 💩box. They are already fully vetted and just need a foster home until their furrever people find them. If you can help, please send us a PM. And if you cannot, please share.

Rescue is not about helping every single request that comes in at record speed. Sadly, it’s not possible, no matter how hard you try. 😿

❌ It’s not about helping beyond your capacity. Even if the person requesting help doesn't understand that you work 24/7 for free, we do. Sometimes they just have to wait... and don't worry, they'll get over it. 😉

Don’t get the message confused, though; helping a large amount of animals is great! But, it shouldn’t be solely about numbers.

✨ It’s about heart, compassion and proper care of the animal.

✨ It’s about helping when you CAN and how you CAN.

✨ Do your part. Even if it’s just one cat, that’s enough.

Depleting your own energy or resources without replenishing them will eventually lead to burnout, making it impossible to be of service to anyone. Set boundaries and make time for rejuvenation.

👉🏽 Please use this as a reminder that prioritizing your own well-being is not selfish, but a necessary prerequisite for being able to give to others. Love to all the helpers out there! 🫶🏽😻🫶🏽

🥰❤️ Thanks to the Friends of Greeneville-Greene County TN Humane Society this beautiful lady is SAFE!

This lady is in Greenville. She is already spayed and has a sponsor that will cover all vet care. Seeking an adopter or foster immediately. She is an owner surrender which means there's no hold. She could be euthanized at any time. Please send me or Volunteers for Greene County Animal Control TN a message wirh any interest.

I cannot give a better example of why YOU are needed and the difference you can make in fostering a cat or kitten than the picture below. Hiro was a very sick 300g kitten that would absolutely not have survived without a foster family. Today he is happy, healthy and thriving because someone said, "sure, I will help that lil guy."
