🙏 A THOUSAND TIMES THANK YOU! 😊

It may not show in her face but Chicken is most grateful for the love and financial support that flowed throughout the evening last night into today. The size of our rescue hearts is typically far bigger than our bank account and thanks to your generosity, Dos Rios Resque can continue to write checks & provide premium care for the cats & kittens in foster.

We always say yes to proper health care knowing things will work out. And thanks to you, they certainly did work out. Please continue to send prayers & happy thoughts for our ChickieGirl because t's a long road to a healthy life for her. I believe with the money raised we can also cover her follow up visit this Friday. Thank you friends...THANK YOU SO MUCH!

🖤 ROUGH DAYS FOR THE DRR CHICKENS 🍞

After a worrisome couple of days with Spicy Chicken, our beautiful VoidToast mama, Chicken is struggling. She has what seemed to be a recurrent URI and headed to Blue Ridge Animal Hospital for care today.

After bloodwork and xrays we learned that she has pneumonia. It's unknown if the cause is bacterial or fungal. So we are treating now with 2 different antibiotics and if that doesn't help, we move to an anti fungal. There is a procedure that can be done (not locally) to determine which we are dealing with but that would require sedation. That would probably be fine if we hadn't also learned today that she has a heart murmur. And just to keep things fun, an ear cytology was done and she has an ear infection. Yeah, liquid meds twice a day, pill once a day, and ear drops will definitely put me in her top 3 favorites over the next few weeks. Separating the babies from the mamas tonight so they are no longer a drain on her tiny, frail body. They are plenty big and I know Chicken will be comforted by hanging with her sister Scarlett.

I know it's the holidays and everyone has their own commitments and stuff but if I don't ask, it's an automatic no. So I am asking. Will ya'll please step up again for our little ChickieGirl?

Our little Spicy Chicken ain't feelin' so great today. 😿

🐥 TRUE TO HER NAME 🐣

Spicy Chicken is hot today for sure...as in she has a fever of 105.2. 😭 Thanks to urgent care services provided by Foundations Animal Hospital, she is already being seen. In addition to the fever she is dehydrated. She stopped eating today and her energy level is basically nil. They are running bloodwork now and hopefully that will give the staff some insight. No rescue discount available but no complaints from us on that, especially since she was immediately taken back when her foster mama, Haylee Wolfe & Cat Daddy, Buddy arrived. Will update you as soon as we know more.

As you all know I am sure, not every cat gets to snuggle in a floofy bed in a warm home like Sebastian. If there are community cats in your neighborhood, please consider providing them a shelter to use on these cold days. You don't have to spend a lot to provide an adequate shelter and you may have many of the supplies you need stashed away at home. Check out the link below if you aren't sure how to get started.

"The Eagle has landed!!" 🥳... after many delays due to weather and Holiday traffic/accidents, Apollo (the kitten formerly known as Selene) is now safely in the arms of his new momma in New York. It is love at first sight. 💘

We were gifted with the opportunity to work with these fine folks in March of this year. I am happy to report, DRR contributed 94 speuters of this big accomplishment. Our number is just a drop in the bucket but it's still 94 cats that were given the opportunity of a happier, healthier life. 😻 WHATCHA LOOKIN' AT UP THERE? ❤️

Wyatt is looking way up because the money pile for him is stacked that high!

We asked. You answered. Then ya did even more! It's so hard to hear and live the tragic stories so many that come to rescue go through. Thankfully due to our wonderful foster purrent, the Mountain Mews broke through and have a chance at life. And boy are we gonna make it a good one for them!

THIS community not only pulled together and FULLY sponsored the vet care for this litter of three, but we will also be able to say yes to the next three (assuming we have a foster) because your hearts are SO big! Thank you just isn't enough. The DRR is absolutely moved to tears by the outpouring of love from the DRR Family.

🐈 IT'S A GREAT DAY FOR A HANGOUT! 🐾

Many of the DRR cats and kittens will be hanging out in Bristol and Johnson City today. Why? Because it's SECOND SATURDAY FOR A SECOND CHANCE!

😻 NO LONGER THE LAST 😍

I am very happy to report the last of the "Goddesses" of Lebanon has found her furrever. It may have taken longer than her siblings but I truly believe she was waiting for just this moment.

Her new mom and dad are over the moon for her! She has a new brother Max who has been well mannered with her. She has fit in so quickly it's almost like she's been there forever. Thank you Jata Family for opening your heart and home to this inky black goddess!
