Happy one year. 🧡
Happy one year to Major Wags Training Academy. Ever since I was a kid I knew I would work with dogs, own a German shepherd, and have my own company. It was just a matter of when, not if. I’ve always worked with animals and have had many jobs but I knew it was time to have something of my own. I finally quit dreaming, woke up and did something about it in October of 2023. I attended National k-9 and graduated as a certified professional dog trainer. Shortly after I moved back into my parents basement, sold my car, gave up my friends, free time and anything I had going on in my life that could possibly distract me from what I wanted. I have worked 7 days a week, early mornings, late nights, no matter how tired I was, wanted to give up, overwhelmed, scared, working in the freezing cold in my parents driveway, blazing sun, pouring rain, it didn’t matter. All I knew was what I wanted and I was going to have just that. And that’s exactly what I did. I worked from the ground up for what I have and I am so proud of myself. In 1 year I have accomplished so much more than I could have ever dreamed of. I now have my own training facility which still sometimes baffles me. I have been blessed to be able to meet so many amazing people and dogs. Thank you all dearly for trusting me enough to be your last resort before euthanasia, rehoming, or to just better your communication with your dog. I hope I have helped make quite an impact in your lives because you all have made a huge one on mine. Without you there would be no me. I won’t stop until I help as many dogs and people as I possibly can in my life time. So here’s to another year of major wags, where good dogs become better.
Dipper
Dipper just needed an understanding trainer. He doesn’t want to bite. He sometimes doesn’t even know why he’s biting. The world is a terrible scary place to him outside of his household. His owners are dedicated to helping him feel more confident/comfortable so he can enjoy the world and realize it’s not such a bad place. He has made strides here and he is going to continue making progress at home. You don’t have to be scared anymore buddy! There is still tons of work to do but for now, this is just enough Mr dipper. 🧡
Happy brother and sister 🧡
Pearl!
Day 1 VS Day 10. Pearl has been fantastic to work with! She has completed the basic obedience residency program. Before training she would ignore commands, jump, counter surf, snarl at her owner at bed time, etc. She now is ready to go home and complete a few private follow up lessons to ensure her owner knows what to do to reinforce the training.
Nemo
Nemo is getting old but still loves doing some tricks! 🧡
Max and Maggie
Max and his sister Maggie are enjoying their stay for boarding 🙂
Major
Having some fun with Major today 🧡
Love when I’m given the opportunity to work with smaller dogs. They can also perform obedience very well! Here is odin enjoying a session of heel, sit, and down! 🧡
Everyone in the major wags family! More to come 🧡
Winnie is enjoying the new space after her training session!
Working on patience! 🧡
