After many weeks off, we had a fun weekend at Goose Creek Horse Show! Sometimes shows are about resilience and coming back strong. After working through some challenges, both pairs finished well with lovely rounds!

So many things to catch up on since our farm move!! First, it was great to be back at Walnut Grove for a show in July!! Kristin & Ande both had lovely trips each day in a competitive division. Jenna & Figment gained more experience schooling away from home! Big things to come them in the future!!

Kristen & Prince of Fools had a fantastic show at Memory’s Hill this weekend!! They were Champion in the TB division and won great ribbons in a very competitive Adult Amateur division!!

Another weekend, another show!! The weather held off and we had a lovely weekend with strong rides all around!! A special shout out to Kristen Watkins & Prince Of Fools on their win in the $1500 Hunter Derby 🥇 Thanks to everyone at Sonny Brooke for a huge, well run show!!

The late Bill Steinkraus’ message was dead simple really – good style is effective style. Back in 1983 he said: “I hear people saying that a rider is ‘crude but effective’ but that is a contradiction. If someone is effective, then they are subtle. They don’t make their aids obvious because they don’t have to. The highest praise is to have someone say, ‘It looks as if the horse was doing it all by himself.’ All that means is that you have reached the stage where you can put every foot exactly where you want it, right around the course, you have arrived at the jump with exactly the right amount of impulsion, at exactly the angle you wanted, in the frame you wanted, and on exactly the right spot – the jump is inevitable.”

The ETHJA Banquet is quickly approaching, as well as our silent auction! Our silent auction is a huge contributor to helping to provide the best experience to our membership year round.
